Lightning Delays Final Round of PGA Championship

Play was halted just as play was heating up at the PGA Championship.

Mickelson holds a one-shot lead in what could be a very exciting finish to this year’s PGA Championship. Play was halted shortly after a lightning storm moved into the area. Mickelson was getting a read on a par-putt at the 14th hole when lightning struck nearby. “Look, I love this championship,” he said, “but I want to live, man.” And that was reason enough to halt play.

There are plenty of great stories waiting to be written at the conclusion of the PGA Championship. Phil Mickelson may grab Major number two. Tiger Woods had all but missed the cut after round two and somehow limped into the weekend, but got into a tie for fourth with a 66, 68 weekend. Vijay Singh is within striking distance with three holes to play. What about that Michael Campbell? He just won the U.S. Open and apparently he’s learning how to contend for Major Championships.

There are so many within a couple of shots of the lead, it could be anybody’s Major. I can’t wait to see the outcome!
