New Drivers, Woods, Hybrids, and Irons from Adams Golf

Adams Golf unveils two new product lines; the SUPER S and the SUPER LS.

Bag DropAdams Golf, long known as the “number one hybrid on tour” is releasing two new product lines at the end of this month; the SUPER S and the SUPER LS. This release of products is special for Adams because the SUPER S line represents the first time that the company has released an entire family of products (driver through irons) under the same name. According to the company, this is because the clubs share much of the same technology and at its core is designed to make golf more enjoyable.

SUPER S
As stated above, the SUPER S line of clubs includes everything from drivers to irons and there is a lot of technology in Adams’ newest offerings. One of the biggest pieces of new technology is found on the new Speedline SUPER S driver. Golfers will no longer need to go into the store and pick out a loft as the loft can be adjusted from 9.5° to 11.5° (decreasing the loft opens the face, while increasing the loft closes the face). That’s not all though; the new Speedline SUPER S driver is also the first to feature Adams’ VST (Velocity Slot Technology). The slot on the club is designed so that it is deeper in both the heel and toe. This allows for a larger sweet spot and straighter drives with more distance. The driver will come standard with the Matrix Radix S shaft.

Of course that’s not all that’s new. There are also new fairway woods. Over the last few years, the R&D department has put forth much effort into their VST, and through that hard work they have been able to provide even more benefits for golfers. The Cut-Thru slot on the new woods makes the face as hot as it’s ever been and as Tim Reed, Adams VP of R&D says, “provides the horsepower for the golfer to hit it extremely long distances.” It is also easier to get the ball up in the air with these clubs as thee new crown slot is thinner, deeper and longer from head to toe. The stock shaft on the fairway wood with bee the Matrix Radix 65.

It’s not drivers or fairway woods that Adams is really known for though; that would be their hybrids and the new Idea SUPER S Hybrid is a “culmination of years of development with the best players in the world,” according to Reed. The company says that it will be easier to make the decision to get home in two on a par 5 or long par 4 as these hybrids launch higher and fly farther than ever before thanks to the same enhanced VST found on the fairway woods. Finally, there are the Idea SUPER S irons, which borrow some hybrid technology to make them easier to hit. The irons have a half hollow construction which makes the club perform like a hybrid even though it still has the look and feel of an iron. The hybrids will feature the Matrix Kujoh shaft while the irons will have either the KBS Tour 90 (steel) or the Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Black 80 (graphite).

SUPER LS
Along with the introduction of the SUPER S family of clubs is the SUPER LS line. Like the Speedline SUPER S driver, the LS version will also feature VST technology for the first time to increase the consistency of the club. The new driver features Adams’ Fast Fit system which gives the golfer a number of things that can be adjusted to fit their game. This includes having the ability to change the face angle, swing weight as well as the length of the club.

Both the fairway woods and hybrids in the new line are said to be extremely hot. The hot face in the new clubs is due to the new sole slot while the new crown slot improves deflection across the clubface. This causes the club to launch higher without adding spin. Both the fairway woods and hybrids feature a multi-material design with a titanium face and crown with a stainless steel sole giving the clubs a low center of gravity. According to Adams’ the fairway woods will have you questioning if you need a driver and the hybrids if you need fairway woods.

All of the clubs in the SUPER LS line will come stock with the Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage shaft.
