Volume Fifty-Three

I do have to thank several companies for their great products which made my 94 possible.

Hittin' the LinksIt is with great pleasure and admiration towards the Golf Gods that I had a great showing this past weeked. I know that it may not mean much to most of you out there, but it was the first time I shot under 100. (Yes, I played 18) I finished with a 94 in fact and I felt solid throughout the whole four and half hours. It was great to be out there and really feel good.

Of course, I do have to thank several companies for their great products which made my 94 possible. Below are just a few suggestions that I would make to those looking to crack that 100 number.

Hole 1: Bunker Hill Golf Course
Situated in Medina Ohio, just about 25 minutes from Downtown Cleveland, Bunker Hill is a great facility no matter what the season. Not only does Bunker Hill have 18 holes of beautiful terrain, but it also has seven golf simulators to keep you on top of your game throughout the chilly months. Voted best course in Ohio in 2004, Bunker Hill is a can’t miss. [link]

Hole 2: The GolfWorks
Most avid golfers may already be familiar with The GolfWorks company which is located in Newark Ohio. If you’re not, the company has a great website with a plethora of product. Whether you’re into building your own clubs, buying and installing your own grips or you want to take some classes on golf club construction, the GolfWorks has it and much, much more. I purchased my new grips from them several weeks ago and installed them over the weekend before my round on Sunday and I’m quite satisfied. [link]

Hole 3: Gorilla Gold
If you’re not yet ready to re-grip your clubs and your glove is leaning towards the worn and raggedy side, you may want to look into this product. Gorilla Gold is a cloth that you simply either rub on your hands or golf grip to give you that new golf grip feel. In fact, I tried this out on my putter grip and it worked great. The only problem I had was getting the cloth back into the bag it came in because my hands were so tacky. Gorilla Gold is also great for baseball, tennis, and football. [link]

Hole 4: The Birdie Ball
This product has been on the market for some time now, and I’ve even seen it in all types of stores. I recently tried a couple of them out in my backyard and they work surprisingly well. Although its maximum distance is roughly 40 yards, the birdie ball is great to practice with in a limited sized field, neighborhood park, or your own backyard. It may look like a napkin ring, but the Birdie Ball delivers. [link]

Hole 5: The Savvy Golfer
The Savvy Golfer is a superb online catalog that has some great products available. Currently, they just started taking orders for the newest innovation in golf bags. The Tri Bag may look like a regular stand alone stand bag, but there’s a twist. It’s detachable wheels and built in retractable handle lightens the load and offers the golfers back some much needed rest whenever needed. Also, the Savvy Golfer has many other products such as Gorilla Gold, the Birdie Ball, and some interesting putters specifically for the ladies, as these putters are encrusted with Swarovski Crystals. Hole 6: How Golf Clubs Work
If you or someone you know is looking to get an education on how golf clubs work, this online directory will break everything you need to know down to the centimeter. From what a hosel is to what your typical club slopes are on your off the rack sets, Howstuffworks is great for kids, beginners, and those who just want a refresher. [link]

Hole 7: D.W. Quail Golf
If you’re in the market for some golf mats, nets, or training aide, D.W. Quail has an extensive variety of items you can set up in your own backyard or a neighborhood park. Also, Quail has some nice looking chipping nets, travel bags, gifts, and head covers as well. [link]

Hole 8: Golf Shoes Plus
I’ve never seen so many golf shoes on one website before! This page just doesn’t have golf shoes either. It also has some sweet looking hats and visors, sunglasses, and some interesting looking head covers. [link]

Hole 9: Par Golf Supply, Inc.
Having a baby? Getting Married? What about possibly having an outing or school/work fundraiser? If so, or even not, Par Golf Supply Inc. provides a number of clever products that you can get custom designed for any occasion that may be in your future. [link]

  1. You can give credit all you like, but you shot 94, not the equipment. Well done – I still remember the first time I broke 100 and just how good the beer (just the one, all things in moderation!) tasted afterwards.
    Congratulations again!

By the way, sounds like you’re not that far from breaking 90……?
