Phil Mickelson may not be able to dress his son properly, but he does know how to win a golf tournament when he’s hot. This week in Golf Talk we discuss Phil’s win at Pebble, Michelle Wie’s new ADT opportunity, slow play, Bill Murray and the incredibly annoying Danny Gans, the loss of The International, Tiger’s design work, and a lot more.

This show was recorded with Audio Hijack Pro over a Skype connection. We then used Soundtrack Pro to edit the show and GarageBand to produce the AAC file from the AIFF file, to add the artwork, and so forth. Feeder was used to create the XML file.
Note: This is an AAC (MP4) file, an open file format. iTunes – free software – can play AAC files, as can numerous other players, though we heartily recommend iTunes.

I guess those of us who are so ignorant we don’t know what a podcast is and don’t know what an MP4 file is and don’t know what iTunes is and don’t know what an RSS feed is simply can’t listen to Golf Talk [Episode 047] or any other episode? And, it’s true – I am that ignorant.
A podcast is like a radio broadcast (though some have video, too), except that it can be played whenever you’d like.
An MP4 is a type of audio file.
Google or your other favorite search engine is your friend. Check the iTunes page at apple.com/itunes for more information.
can anyone advise how i can listen to the podcast as an mp3 as oppsoed to a mp4 file. i cant play mp4’s on the portable machine i have.
rgds in advance.
You cannot. It’s an AAC file – which is an entirely different encoding method than MP3. However, iTunes and many other audio players can play AAC files.
ok thanks, i appreciate i can listen to it at home but i download my golf podcasts to listen to when out walking each day, relieves the boredom whilst trying to relieve the stomach 😯
Hey guys…great podcast this week. One note though…
During the Fresno portion of the show you pronounced Nevada incorrectly. It’s Nev-ADD-uh, not Nev-ODD-uh. Just a FYI from a Nevadan 😀
Updated note: You actually pronounced it correct at the end of the show though! 😉
Hey guys, I really wanted to see the picture of Phil’s son since you guys talked so much about it. I have no clue what that kid was wearing, pretty weird. The best picture I could find of the sone was in phils player gallery on the golf channel’s website.
You can find a pretty large image of the outfit here.
Man, thank god someone else was as sick of Danny Gans’ act. Not only was it old the second time the camera focused on him, but he did the same face-contorting, hey-i’m-a-vegas-showclown act every single time after that as well.
i blame cbs as much that jackass.
Well, since 2/15 when Erik explained “podcast” and “itunes” to me, I’ve been trying to join the 21st century! I now have an iPod, have downloaded Golf Talk Episodes 52, 53 & 54 to my iPod and have listened to them. I have also downloaded some CDs (Rolling Stones, Elton John, Tchaikovsky, Holst, Fleetwood Mac and some other stuff) and listened to some of it. Thanks, Eric!
