Greetings golf fans and welcome to another volume of Hittin’ the Links. It was a busy week of golf around the world. There was a tournament just about everywhere you looked. PGA Tour, Champions Tour, Nationwide Tour, LPGA, European Tour, U.S. Amateur – it was a golf spectators dream. With all that golf there is lots to cover, so without further ado, on with the show.
In this volume of HTL we first investigate what Tiger considers the “ladies tees,” Check out Pakistan’s first ever bid into the World Golf Championships, and find out what problems face the International Presidents Cup team. Also, we look at golf haters, check in on Ken Green’s recovery, and do a wrap-up on some of the week’s events. Read on!

Golf shoes can be one of those accessories in which you either want to blend in or stand in out a crowd. For those who want to blend in (I am Exhibit A in that category), odds are you just find a shoe fits great and you pay little attention to the looks (okay, maybe a little just to make sure they don’t look too crazy).
Although I, like many, am neither a Wie-maniac nor a committed Wie-watcher, I was pleased with Michelle’s performance at the Solheim Cup this past weekend. The Michelle Wie Story will always be one of failure to meet the ludicrous expectations which surrounded her. It is, of course, a wholly fruitless endeavor to speculate as to the exact genesis of said expectations, but the recipe is surely some part B.J. Wie, some part mass sports media hysteria of the Tiger Woods variety.
The U.S. team is victorious in the Solheim Cup and Michelle Wie is the leading point earner. Also, Tiger commits to Barclays, Ryan Moore wins his first, a writer coins the phrase “Slow-heim Cup,” and a whole lot more in this episode of Golf Talk.
It seems like every week details on at least one new, drool-worthy piece of equipment makes its presence known to us “normal” golfers. This week is no exception, as we have two new wedge offerings to talk about.
