  1. my only misses in the past 10 rounds have been hitting the ball fat, one of my buddies said i should focus on keeping my shoulder up, and that seems to help. Since ive been focusing on this ive noticed my shoulders are coming thru much faster and im hitting the ball farther, is this just a random occurence? Or did i just find that extra ten yards off the tee ive been looking for?
  2. i have hit the vrs in the past but not right before i bought them, however ive been hitting my buddy's taylormade mb irons pretty regularly and ive been striking them within half a ball mark of center pretty consistently, so i know i can hit a blade...what if i switched my project x shafts on my callaways to my nikes? what kind of a difference would that make?
  3. project x rifle 5.5 on the x22's dynamic gold s300 steel step how much smaller is the sweet spot on the blades vs. the x22 tours? any ideas?
  4. first of all, i got a deal for a 300 dollar set of brand new vr blades so i had to take the deal.....however, i had been looking at moving into a muscle back or pro combo set for quite a while....one reason why the blade set is so tempting to me is because i hit my cavity backs so high that any shot i try to play into even a slight headwind is just ballooned and short, so hopefully the blades will give me a more penetrating ball flight...i realize the blades will have a small sweet spot, but my ball striking is pretty good, worst round of the year is an 83 on a par 72 so ive been playin pretty well...ive just got a few questions... how much yardage should i expect to gain/lose? say i hit a shot dead off the toe, with my x22s i lose about 25 yards when that happens, can it get much worse with the blades? a shank with a cavity back would be a shank regardless right? in other words, a bad shot is a bad shot regardless of the iron type?
  5. so the general response im getting is that sacrificing some swing speed to make sure youre making great contact wont affect the overall yardage outcome??
  6. im thinking that if i keep a better tempo similar to a "pendulum" il be able to get more of my body into it and distance will come that way, i gotta get to the range and just compare distances swinging all out, and swinging smooth
  7. any hints on how i can maintain a smooth swing on the course? my driver swing speed is about 105 but i really go after it, i just cant get it thru my head, i just think that if i try to be too smooth i wont be able to hit it as far...im a wreck
  8. thanks for all the input guys! But @kieran123 you were right, i looked at a vid i took at the range last time, it almost seems as if im lifting my hands when im setting up, il try letting my arms drop straight at the range next time!
  9. get fit for clubs, i got fit for my most recent clubs and confidence went thru the roof...if its offered for free, or even cheap with a new set, do it
  10. it typically relates to course conditions, but id avoid it, its frowned upon
  11. it hasnt become a huge problem yet, just looking for some tips to correct this....ive tried standing a little closer to the ball, no change...
  12. those would be some pretty generous parents, considering ap2's go for 1k
  13. only problem is, i dont know any 16 year old that can afford ap2's...yes great clubs, might be a little out of this guy's price range tho
  14. it does sound really clunky/loud indoors, get it outside and it sounds like a dream!
