So apparently it is a Callaway thing? Having never owned one I didn't know. So what is the purpose?

Why is there a hole near the "C" on the bottom toe of the club? it has been filled with a plastic plug. I just bought this driver from an authorized dealer on monday, but didn't notice this today until the 9th hole when I was playing. Is this supposed to be there? For what purpose if it is? thanks! ps. I tried searching but came up with nothing.
