  2. Agreed, Sean. I'll shoot some swings while hitting a ball in the near future. I used this swing to hit my irons on the course the other day, and hit some beauties (and some uglies). I've always casted in the past, with or without a ball, so this is a step in the right direction. A flat shoulder turn encouraged that apparently. I made my left shoulder go under my chin and everything kinda fell into place after that. That is the longest I ever maintained the wrist angle on the downswing, and my follow-through and balance improved, too. I'm retired, so I have the time. The weather here in Mobile has been beautiful recently. 60s and clear.
  3. Any comment or critique is welcome.
  4. 6 swings in slomo. 3 face-on, 3 down the line. Here are the times they begin, so you can fast-forward. 00:00, 01:24, 03:03, 05:33, 06:24, 08:21. Shot at 240 fps on Casio EX-FC100. Thanks for looking.
  5. Perhaps I should call my swing a Tennis Forehand. That is closer to the way it feels.
  6. I ran across this report after seeing prices that were too good to be true: http://www.ripoffreport.com/sporting-good-manufactures/on-line-golf-wholesa/on-line-golf-wholesale-com-on-d44e3.htm
  7. Mbolic, swinging an axe is a good analogy. Creating and maintaining lag is very difficult for me. In the video, you will notice I don't even cock my wrists, so there is no 90 degree angle to start. Jetfan, I find that my spine angle and hip rotation are maintained better with my baseball swing. I have limited flexibility, especially in my left hip and thigh. It is almost impossible for me to swing properly. mdl, I hit some balls yesterday as slowly as I could and the results were pretty good in terms of contact. No video, so hard to know if I delayed the hit better.
  8. Two tips from the Golf channel have really helped my iron swing. I feel like I am trying to get my right thumb back as far as it will go and pointing toward the target on the backswing. This assures a full backswing and puts me far enough behind the ball to get out of my own way. I move very slowly on backswing.. Then I pause......, This gives my hips the time to start unwinding. Then I feel as if my left hand has a dagger in it and I try to stab the ball back-handed.
  9. Thanks, I'll try that. Hope I don't break my driver.
  10. My most effective swing with a driver is what I call a baseball swing, where I set up normally but the takeaway and downswing are all controlled with my right hand. It is as if I am throwing a ball sidearm. I hit it dead straight about 220 yards. My legs are much more involved and I have a better release than my regular swing, which produces a chicken wing after impact. I have always casted the club from the top, and mdl's insight into exploding from the top describes what happens very well. My solution is not ideal, but very effective because I am always in the fairway. Unfortunately, I can not use my baseball swing off the ground, so I have to use a different swing for those shots. I am going to try mdl's advice to slow way down.
