  1. Well after another trip to the local shop...ima just get a set of the Walter Hagen MS2 for 115 after tax...its driver..3wood..3/4/5 hybrid..6-9 iron...pw/sw/putter...bag with 5 headcovers and rain cover Throwin in a pair of last years green joys for 35 bucks This way I'm only spending 150 and won't feel guilty upgrading clubs within the next few months... Sound good to anyone? Like I said I'm still learning the game...its just the set of dunlops I have are OLD OLD I'm thinkin atleast 5-10 years The proshop does havethese used irons....x-20 for 200....adams rps 200....and burners for 200...all 8 peice sets
  2. Yeah that sounds pretty good...I've been doing a lot of browsing looking to build it peice by peice but I honestly haven't had much luck within my budget...like I said I'm pretty new to golf but LOVE it....I really can't stress enough about my budget being super low....right now I'm only getting about 30 hours a week at my job and have bills...also trying to save for a car as well.... I have done a lot of looking on ebay and the callawaypreowned site...everytime I think I find something I like something else catches my eye Would someone care to post some links of what they might go with in my situation?? I'm @ work and on my phone and product browsing gets difficult If I can stay between 200 - 300 that would be GREAT!! (2012 TIGHT LIES @ LOCAL = 350) driver - 3/5w - 4I - 5/6/7/8/9 - pw - tom watson sw- putter I get payed tonight...so I really wanna figure this out ASAP!! I can either buy the walter hagens tonight or put a GOOD chunk on the adams or whatever I go with
  3. Yeah I'm trying to do as much research and homework as I possibly can... what about the lower x- series?? Like x-17?? Its a little more in my budget...like I said I really can't afford to spend much...trying to save up for a car too
  4. Ok, I'm going to apologize in advance...I spent 20 mins typing this post up and then hit backspace only to go back a page and lose it alllll...so here it is quick!! I started focusing on golf hardcore about a month ago. In the past year Id say that i have played a total of 10 rounds of 18 and about 20+ trips to range(100 balls @ min per trip)...I really enjoy the sport and want to really practice hard and accelerate my skill rate as quickly as my body and cashflow let me. I have been using a set of OLD hand me down Dunlops(driver/irons/woods) that are extremely wore.. Im finally to a point where i make pretty solid contact with the ball everytime and for the most part goes "Toward" the area i aimed for. So I figure logically the next thing for me to do to get better is to purchase my very own FIRST set of clubs. Ok to start off i live in a small town w/ 1 "pro shop"... the guy there is really cool and nice ive known him for a couple years...he told me anything i wanted i could put on layaway and he wouldnt charge me extra or give me a time frame.. after talking with him he got the "Adams Tight Lies" series into my head Im looking to spend 200-500 Adams Tight Lies 11pc (Local = 340 / Dicks = 399) -- Adams Tight Lies PLUS 12pc (Local = 440 / Dicks = 499) [ 460 cc Driver - 3/5 Wood - 5H - 6-9 - PW/SW - Putter] PLUS CONTAINS A 4H FOR 100 MORE Ive looked at new sets from 09-11 and they are same amount of clubs just 100-300 bucks cheaper!!! Well After going to dicks yesterday for 3 hours and explaining exp and swinging...PGA dude shows me a set of the "Walter Hagen XLR" $199 marked down from $400 He said that with my skill level the name ADAMS wont help too much [460cc Driver - 3 Wood - 3/4H - 5/6/7/8/9 - PW/SW - Alignment Putter] http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12584067 I Swung the 6 Iron from both the Walter Hagen and Plus set.. They BOTH look exactly the same almost to a T for each club....design...cavities...weight...head size (Hagen is SMIDGE bigger...im thinking good?)....I honestly thought the Hagen set felt better to Swing...seemed more natural...I did not like the grips from the Tight Lies Plus Set either... SOOOO!!!! What do I do??? - 2012 Tight Lies Plus?? 440/500 - 2012 Tight Lies?? 340-400 - 09-11 New Tight Lies?? 200-400 - Walter Hagen XLR?? 200 (Gives me money left over for better driver/putter/etc - ORR?!?! Buy a used set of name brand clubs from ebay/online?? 200-500? The Less I Spend The Better....honestly shouldn't be spending any on new clubs but heyyyy i love golf... Any input would be awesome!!
