1. Since hitting golf balls regularly for the first time for the last couple of months i have noticed that i consistently slice the ball. Initially my drives were fairly straight but the last several times I have played a round of hit at the driving range it has been more duck hooks than anything. Wedges and 9 iron are fairly straight but 6-8 all hook fairly regularly. I took some videos and then stills of those videos and am trying to see what is mechanically wrong with my swing causing me to hook so often. I have been trying to force my hips to slide forward and not let my hands go in front and occasionally will overcompensate and slice. I have 2 videos, one of 8 iron and the other with driver with full speed swings followed by the swing in slow motion and then stills of at the top of the swing and right before and after impact. Any analysis or advice is greatly appreciated!!
2. So i've been going to the driving range more than.... well i ever have before and hitting ALOT more balls than i ever have before on my quest to actually become proficient at this sport. The downside to hitting 200-300 balls per range trip is I have been getting multiple blisters on my hands... The worst is on my left index finger just above the first knuckle on the thumb side of the finger where the club rests.. The other is on my right index finger on the middle of the middle knuckle, also where the club rests. I have noticed that when I swing the club moves just a little bit in my hand and I have to reset after each real swing. When I bought my clubs from the golf shop I was told I would likely want to use midsize grips as I wear a large glove and have larger than average hands (i guess?). Would the blisters, club moving in my hand be indicators midsize grips may work better for me, or just the fact that I need to work on my grip in general and maybe grip harder so the club doesnt move so much?? Thanks for the input!!
3. There aren't any places nearby that allow use of the club in store unfortunately so I am unable to try out the other clubs prior to purchase. The X22's are used from a friend, in good shape and he is asking for $300. The taylormade burner plus or burner 2.0 I think I may be able to get new for around that price. The others are items Ive found online or in the store brand new for that price. Hard to make a decision without trying them, but unfortunately seems like that is what I may have to do. Thanks for the input.
4. Currently trying out some callaway hawkeye vfts which I'm not super impressed or happy with. I am still able to return them. My other options for nearly the same price include some callaway x22's, taylormade burner plus or burner 2.0 irons, or Adams A5os irons. Which set would you all recommend or others I should look at I can get in the 300 or under price range? Thanks for the help!
5. Ok thanks for the info. So today I went to local golf store to try out some used and new clubs to find a full set of irons. Picked up a 4-PW used set of Callaway Hawk Eye VTF irons with steel shaft for $225. Couldn't find much info about them other than a few reviews. Will take them to the driving range later tonight. Finding these online with a wide range of prices, do you guys think I got a fair deal? Can take them back within 30 days if I don't like them.
6. Hi, new to this forum. Very high handicap golfer looking to improve my game. Currently using a set of irons I bought used about 10 years ago. I went to research the clubs to see if I could learn enough about them to decide to reshaft, sell, keep or what to do with them. Google searching has brought up no information on this set of irons and I was hoping you golf educated individuals could help me. The head of the club says "Legend" by Palmer on the back of the club. I can't find this set anywhere. The head is a stainless steel head. They have a Palmer logo graphite shaft. The main issue I have had, is over the last couple of years I have head the head of the 3,7, and 8 irons all break off and multiple other shafts showing wear and dings and I'm worried I'm going to lose even more heads. So trying to decide between buying a new max G I set, or if getting this set re-shafted would be worth it ( if the clubs are only worth
