  1. I probably should have said I have a newer Calaway titanium driver. Need to look at the woods though. Might need to get a fairway/hybrid instead of what I have. Thanks again for all the advice. Kinda nice to keep the clubs because they were my late fathers.
  2. We just moved and now are located very close to a semi-private golf course. I really want to get back into the game, but want to start right. I plan to take lessons, but my question is about my clubs. I have a set of ping eye 2 clubs that my father handed down (many, many years ago) and I had custom fit some time ago. Should I start with those or consider a newer more forgiving game improvement club. I am going to look at a Yamaha cart tomorrow, so I really have the bug. Thanks in advance for the advice.
  3. Thanks for the responses. If the clubs are even close to "forgiving" my inclination is to keep them, work on the lessons, and then pick a new set down the road.
  4. So, I had to take a 10 year vacation from golfing due to kids sports and my wife and I really want to get back in. I played this week and it reignited my interest to get started again. While I know that getting some lessons to start right, I want to make sure that I have forgiving equipment so my frustration factor is minimized (yes, I remember those years ago). I currently have a set of Ping Eye 2's that has been custom fit to me. They are in great condition, but they are close to 20 years old. So, while I understand that getting lessons is the most important step, should I consider changing to a more recent club or not? BTW - the woods are much more recent Callaway's - that's why I am not asking about those.
