I agree that the Preserve is a great short course option - some of the best views on the property! October can be beautiful, and rarely really cold, but be sure to layer with good rain gear just in case, and extra socks, and shoes you have worn for a while and like. Another option if walking is too much is to go about ten miles south to Bandon Crossings, where they have carts. It's one of those "Hidden Gems" GolfLinks mentioned recently.
