Could This Be the Future of the LPGA?

Gender-swapping! That’s right, the first male-born, sexually tweaked “female” is now being allowed to compete in the Women’s British Open.

miannebagger.jpgDanish born, 37-year old Mianne Bagger, 1995 sexual convert (check out the adam’s apple), recently became the first to play in a professional women’s tournament. Turning professional last year, she sold everything she had when she became eligible to qualify for the LET. Mianne is now the first transsexual to play on a professional sports tour since tennis player Renee Richard (aka Richard Raskind) competed during the 1970’s. But, don’t worry ladies… Mianne recently missed the cut in her first event, the Tenerife Open.

The Ladies Golf Union, overseers of the British Open, have followed the European Union and the International Olympic Committee to allow transgenders to compete in women’s golf events, putting women’s sports at a possible disadvantage by pushing gender-neutral policies.

Ty Votaw, commisioner of the LPGA, stated just last year that the LPGA could be next! As Robert Knight, Concerned Women for America’s Director of Culture and Family Institute rebutted, “This would ruin the LPGA with “fake women” playing golf; importing men into the women’s tour is wrong and would destroy the integrity of the sport.”

Watch out guys, the PGA Tour could be next!

Imagine Michelle Wie, aka Michael Wie, crushing 300 yard drives down the middle of the fairway at the Masters. Perhaps Annika gets tired competing with the puny females on the LPGA and converts to try her luck on the PGA Tour… she just got a divorce, you know…

Or, how about “Philomena” Mickelson or “Tigress” Woods switching sides to go play against the ladies on tour? They could probably win all the tournaments, playing from the whites, although they would give up major earnings potential!

Perhaps, that’s how the LPGA will gain it’s future excitement? In golf, distance and aggressive shots make for excitement. Perhaps men will change to women to make the LPGA more exciting! It is a way to compete on tour and win!

  1. I am totally against this. No matter how many surgeries and what not, the person is still built like a man. Different muscle mass, different build, and different chromosomes. He still can’t make the cut on a women’s event, C’Mon!

  2. Part of me wants to avoid commenting on this buy my better judgement lost out. This is rediculous. If you’re born a man then you should play a man’s tour (assuming you can qualify). I can’t believe that we’re even having this conversation. This is politically correct gone wacky. Unbelievable.

  3. I cant believe that in the year 2005 we are still so closed minded as a nation and as people. Why must anyone feel the need to judge is beyond me. If a person gets a sex change operation and contends in a sport as the person they feel they are on the inside, then who are we to judge? I really feel that this is still very primative thinking. It is not as if they have a choice about how they were born, or the way they feel. All I can say is, before you judge put yourself in the other persons shoes and see if you like the way people treat you, and the way that they talk about you.

  4. If a man “turned” woman competes in a woman’s sport, he/she still has the physical traits of a man, for example greater muscle mass. I don’t think it’s fair to pit Mianne against, let’s say, Paula Creamer, but if it happened I STILL think Creamer’s superior golf skills would win out. 😉

  5. The bitchy tone of this little article and several subsequent comments suggest a lack of understanding by the writers. What makes a man a man or a woman a woman anyway? Mianne Bagger should be applauded for living openly and proudly. She seems to be rather generous with educating those with less open minds. Hard to believe that since Renee Richards fueled this discussion thirty years ago there are still people so intent on policing artificial gender boundaries. Lighten up everyone and enjoy life.

  6. Regarding what makes a man a man and a woman a woman…such a dumb question! We can probably make dogs into cats and horses into elephants.

You’re messing with mother nature and mother nature doesn’t like it.

When you mix gender and species, you’re creating an “it”. It is no longer male nor female but a new species created by man. We will call it an “it”.

    Other possible names: “feman”.

  7. Mother nature – my foot!!
Mother Nature creates people who eventually later in life need to do whatever they can (by the assistive help of science and surgery) so that their outward appearance wil match their gender. It’ not something anyone would wish to do – especially not in the face of the almost total lack of understanding this condescending article displays. Sad, that so many comments to it show such lack of understanding and knowledge about a matter that for a number of people is a question of life and death.
