  1. dbuck thank you for the long and detailed advice. To answer your questions i am 21 yrs old and most of the time i am hitting the ball in the rough on the right side of the fairway but occasionally i do go into the woods or OB. I am also a student in college so i dont get to play as much as i would like to so i can fine tune different parts of my golf game. I know that an X shaft isnt the solution to all of my problems but i did like your idea of shortening the shaft because for some reason i generally hit down on the ball at a 6 degree angle rather then hitting it at a positive angle and i believe that could help me strike the ball better. I have also talked with a couple golf pros from my area and am trying to schedule something to have my clubs fitted appropriately and to find any irregularities with my swing. Thanks again for the advice!
  2. thats a good idea ill try to get one up asap
  3. sorry i meant to say sand wedge above not pitching wedge.
  4. i usually hit the ball 300-350 depending on the slope and quickness of the fairway, i have driven a couple greens on par fours that are around 370-400 as well though but if not im usually hitting a pitching wedge for my second shot to reach the green. Thanks for the tip on accelerating through the ball i've never really made it a priority to constantly think about that but i will give it a shot and see how it works out.
  5. haha ive been trying to do that for a while but my swing just doesnt feel the same.....Also i was wondering if anyone knew a website or something that told you the locations of amatuer long drive competitions because i have wanted to enter one for a while but cant seem to find any source that tells me where the locations are for such events
  6. i averaged 135 with the r11 driver i use a ping g2 now and i usually swing about 125 with that, but trust me you're not the first one who hasnt believed me when i told them and i know it sounds ridiculous but i do swing within that range, i just dont play enough to have my skill level where i would like it to be right now which is why any tips would be helpful.
  7. i sense a little bit of sarcasim in your response there but trust me i didnt believe it either when he told me, but every place i have gone to since then i have been relatively consistent around that speed usually 125-135 depending on the club so take it as you will but this is no joke so id appreciate it if i could get some honest responses, thanks.
  8. Hey hows it going i am a new member of this forum and was wondering if you all had any tips for me regarding my driver accuracy. I was recently trying out a few new drivers and the golf pro at the shop told me that my swing speed was an average of 135mph. Now he recommended trying to slow my swing down to hit the ball more accurately but everytime i try that it ends up being worse then if i hit the ball at regular speed. Now i was thinking of switching shafts on my club to extra stiff instead of the stiff shaft and was wondering if that would help significantly or if anyone had any other tips you would recommend?
