That's why you go to the range to practice. If your poor play wrecks everyone else enjoyment and time then you should be picking the ball up. Everyone paid a green fee, to finish a game and not to be waiting around for 5+ hours on a 4 hour course. It's called consideration for others. When I started playing, I had to pick up my ball after a snowman on each hole. Embarrassing , but at least the others who are also a paying customer would be able to enjoy their day and I won't feel guilty for ruining their play.

Unfortunately I can only play weekends and Fridays in the evening. I think that the course should manage their own pace though, whether it's a busy day or not.

Just sharing the experience I've had playing at this particular for the past 3 times. 1. I had to wait for about 5-10 minutes for each hole because the groups infront of me refuses to pick up the ball 2. I called the pro shop and the marshal doesn't do anything. 3. The Excuse I got from the pro shop was that there's a difficult par 4 and 5 and after that it'll open up... not true, I still caught on to the groups and ended up with 4 groups on a tee box. At this point, the GPS says 30+ min behind. 4. I got paired with a man who has been making bad shots and he became upset, and he acted like a kid by throwing tantrum. One of the tantrums was he kept walking ahead of me when I'm trying to make a shot. He never yelled fore to anyone... So... my opinion is that I don't really care the level of players on a course, no matter how hard the course is, but pick up the ball if you keep making bad shots and don't back the entire pace. Spineless marshals need not be a marshal who can't do his job correctly. Sending messages to the GPS in the cart doesn't work. And lastly, about this guy... I almost want to just do a chip shot and aim at his head. And no, I didn't,... but I was pretty damn well frustrated for 9 holes. What do you guys think?

Seriously? They just put down the score they WANT? wth... I got to see this with my own eyes... the people I play with are usually very very rigid when it comes to rules =\ -
Can someone please tell me what this shaft is all about? So many people are raving about it and ppl kept saying that it's one of the best shafts in the world. Perfect in all aspects they say. I play R11s TP with the stock Aldila Phenom S+ flex. So please share your experience and knowledge about this shaft and ask me questions.

Thanks for the advices, both of you. Huh? You can cheat in golf? How can ppl cheat like crazy in a scramble? -
I was invited by the embassy for a charity tournament in summer. This will be my first scramble tourney and I was wondering if you guys have any advice for me? Most likely I'll have the longer drive in the group and the better short game + putting. but I notice that when I get tired my drives are either blocks or fades. chipping and putting are usually unaffected.

Interesting, I was reading an article and it seems that the C-taper S frequency is 6.3, thus 0.3 more than PX 6.0 And their S+ is like 6.8 and XS is 7.3 . Well, I'm getting new irons with the C-taper S, let's see how my balls are, since I'm already a low to medium ball flight striker.
-
So I 'm just wondering, I was told that PX 6.0 is basically between an S and X, thus an S+ But how about C-Taper S? Is it the same as PX6.0?

Hi I notice that when I try too hard to swing, my left shoulder lifts and my body angle changes, instead of maintaining the angle which causes my toe to dig into the ground after impact. What is the remedy or things to remember to help with this?

Mvmac, I haven't hit a slice for a long time. The trouble is still distance and trajectory. I'm thinking of trying this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xi2BPgyfZ0 I'm still lost, why can't I hit the driver as well as irons.
-
MVmac: I just got back from the range... man, I'm really stiff... I manage to hit the ball a little further, but still no longer than 200 yds... I took a vid and I went back to my old bad habit when I was trying really hard to keep my head still and behind the ball... as a result I didn't even move my lower body and I chicken wing a little. Not a single slice though, all straight or draws, just a tad low and only 200yds. Heck, I hit my 7i 175yds average today.
-
Ok, I feel a lot better now, since I have always thought that it should have been square, but I never change it because my ball flight with irons have always been good this way. Thanks for giving me the confidence. Will try to hit my driver tomorrow and see how it goes with that S&T; method.

Motorola Actv has been used for athletes and gym goers for a while now, but recently they released the Golf Edition. Currently only the 16GB version is available for MSRP: $299.99 And soon they'll release the 8GB version. If you already have the original ACTV, all you need to do is just download the firmware update and voila... Golf edition. Content: Moto ACTV Dual wall usb charger 1x USB cable Micro Wrist Band Belt clip Charging: Super fast. Only takes around 1 hour to full charge. Battery life: I have lasted 4 days almost 5 days just by using it as a watch. Battery life for golf: 2-3 rounds. Quality of wrist band: Cheap. The prongs to fasten the band are made of plastic, so expect one to break easily. The craftsmanship of the band is also very undetailed and cheap, it doesn't look like they care how they made it, lines, etc. The actv itself is pretty much all an athlete and a golfer would want to have on a watch. I owned a Garmin S1W for 5 months and I have always had a small gripe as to why the watch's battery life is so bad, the screen is monochrome and it takes a long time to charge, plus the charger is proprietary. The LCD on the ACTV is marvelous. It's basically a mini android device. The GPS for golf is accurate and not only that, you can sync it to a MAC or PC and it'll sync to your motorola account and they'll records all your progress, what shots you made and also compare them to how a pro would play those shots. I haven't tapped into the full potential of the Golf app of this device, but it will do the things I want it to do, plus more. Another option it has is of course MP3 player, all I can say it sounds great. One last option is the wireless connectivity. You can actually pair it with your phone so that you can receive notifications on your watch and leave your phone in your bag. MOTO ACTV has so many features that I know I will take time to discover them all. And most likely won't be using them all ^_^ My Conclusion: Compared to the new Garmin S3w at $350 price tag, and no improvement from S1w, the MOTO ACTV Golf edition is a sure win. Touch screen, Full color LCD, decent battery life, great GPS and other athletic functions, great MP3 player and more in one little watch. the $250 8gb and $300 16gb price tag I think is still quite steep, however this is the best one out there so far. I hope that Motorola will drop the price to $200 for the 16gb. I hope this review have helped some of you interested in buying a watch GPS.

Thank you, I didn't know that about the sky and low shots. I tried putting my weight forward like in the video and it feels a lot more comfy, just like how I used to swing the driver. I hope that will fix my drives. Thanks a bunch, I learned a lot. One question, all my setups, my club is leaned forward, PW to Driver. For the driver, it seems that my face is a tad open on address and sometimes, even my irons are like that. However with irons, all my shots are still straight or straight - draw. So open face on address is normal?
-
Motley: I only use my 3 Wood as a tee shot. Then I have a 3 Hybrid for fairway shot, goes as far and easier to hit. MvMac: I think you may be right about my weight. I changed from a weight 60/40 to 40/60 on address since I lean back a little on address. What do you mean by "handle" btw? Thanks for the vid, I'll try that with my driver. Btw, so all those low shots and flip hooks, etc is weight back? How about the sky shots? Thanks for the help!
-
I have an R11s TP driver and I have extreme hard time hitting it. I've been focusing on my irons for a while and I can hit irons very well. My shots with the driver is extremely low / very low flip hook / I sky shot / forward spin of the ball and the ball just sinks down after 150 yds. I lost all confidence with my driver completely and now I'm also very tight when I swing. So yes, I'm lost at this point.
-
Well sure enough, the sharpie marker points to 1 o'clock on my 2* flat lie club. So I'll be getting standard spec irons next time
-
Interesting. I will ask for a static fitting. Thank you, I isn't know about this. Im currently 11 handicap. And I already changed my swing, so it's almost no longer the out to in path anymore. Not perfect, but my shots re straights or draws now. Thanks for the info
-
Thank y, will try that. Yes, toe shots are my bad shots. Generally when I try to swing too hard and it becomes an out to in swing. I'd assume this is correct? So what does toe shots mean to you?
-
When does a person need to flatten the lie of an iron? When I was swinging slightly on an outer path, I was told to get a 2* flatter lie. Now I hit straight and draw shots since I drop my arms on the down swing to get into the slot. A golf pro then told me that all my specs are standard and that with a 2* flatter lie, the toe digs into the ground a lot more. Any one can tell me? I'm planning to buy a second set of irons and I want to be educated about this before then.
