  1. Appreciate all the responses so far for sure, its cheap to maintain so I might still get one. Plus getting into a club could be fun with the added benefit of a USGA tracked AGA tracked handicap Index and people to play with and learn from. Team sponsored events things like that
  2. Howdy Im pretty new to this site, but like it already. A little about me Im a 38 yr old beer drinking, blue collar boy that loves to play golf. I have played off and on for about 15 yrs, and I am wanting to take my game up a notch or two, I usally hover in the mid 90's AKA not so good But I have decided I want to look into tracking my handicap, and Im a little undecided on route to take, I can go to a local course and pay fees and start tracking, I can register with the AGA (Arizona Golf Assosiation) and track there, or other option is I can try and find a golf group that is registered with the USGA and pay fees there and have the team asspect, plus access to more orginized events and team stuff along with the social side. I have guys I reg play with but would be nice to find a group in my age range that does this, I am In Surprise AZ and here in AZ golf is king so I guess Im looking for some guiadance from some more exp players as whats the best route to take. I am not trying to go try out for the U.S Open but I do want to elevate my game to get the most out of the sport I love to play. Any and all suggestions are welcome again howdy and hope to hear from yall.
  3. First of hello, I introduced myself in the new guy forum. But a Little about me: I am a 38 year old beer drinking, blue collar boy from west texas living in AZ. I have been trying to play golf for about 15 yrs (self taught), and very inconsistant playing time so Im not that good AKA Hacker, mid 90's is norm for me. I have decided I would like to start to carry a Handicap Index for the first time, and push myself to get more out of this awsome game I love to play. So more to the point, I have a couple questions as how to go about this. Should I just register with the AGA (Arizona Golf Assosiation) And start to track my Handicap? Or Go to local course pay fees and track there? Last option I was interested in as it would add some extra fun factor in the game would be to locate a local golf group that provides tracking and USGA handicap and events access. Team aspect and stuff? All in all im a virgin in trying to take this game to a higher lvl for me on several lvl's fun and competition being the forefront, so Im wanting to take the best steps to maximize fun and competition. Any and all suggestions welcome also Im likeing this site it seems to be very active and lots of info looking forward to all responses
  4. Like to say howdy from southern AZ, Surprise area. Im a hacker tryin to get better, actually looking to get into a club and try and carry a official Handycap index. Unofficially I hover around the mid 90's golf score self taught (No Lessons), I am in my late 30's married kids all that jazz.....So if anyone has any info on some good local clubs that are around that age range looking for another hacker hit me up meanwhile I look forward to browsing this forum and learning all I can.
