I just purchased a set of Cobra S3 irons with reg flex steel shafts.
These were tested against Ping G15, Taylormade r9 and r9TP.
My current set which I still use is the r7 CGB, which I love.
It came down to the decision between the r9 and the S3, both almost equal except to small differences.
1. the grip on the S3 is much better (yes a easy fix on the r9)
2. an off-hit never felt bad on the S3
on the computer I was hitting distances of 190 ave with 6 iron on the r9
witht a 6 iron on the S3 it was 184 yds.
prices: retail for r9 was $598
retail for S3 was $648
the price differences of $50 made it a tough decision between the two
those barely noticeable by when compared the S3 felt like a longer club in hand.
