  1. Too bad my airline don't fly to the Netherlands. Just found out my golf club does fittings, next club gets fitted by them and if the driver does not feel right will see what they say. Bottom line is will never be fitted by golf galaxy again.
  2. good stories, I will have to look around when im in the market for new irons which should be in the near future because im not thrilled about having to go to golf galaxy again. The only problem is the main 2 places around here are them and dicks and neither I really want to go to. The one that helped me tried to rush me through the process as soon as possible. Anyway didnt get to play much today on the end of the 1st hole my son got stung by bee and we went home. :(
  3. Yea I haven't used any of the adjustments, everything is set how I bought it. I actually don't plan on using the settings to fix my swing. Going on the course again in about 2 hours will let you know how it goes.
  4. I demo hit this club before I bought it on the course and liked how it felt, the only reason I changed my grip was because of the test hit results. I was buying this club before I went to test hit because of how much I liked it when I demo'ed it on the course. And im still happy I bought it because it reduces the amount of slice I have, goes far as hell, I like the look of it. as for the scuffed up part I didnt look at it close enough or I would of thats totally my fault but it wasnt like huge scuff so unless I really looked at it I would of missed it. So far this club has been the best for my game but honestly the dude at GG really wasnt that helpful anyway. The whole process took less then a hour. This will be my only driver for a couple years for sure and again I really do like the club.
  5. Let me start off with saying I dont trust their launch monitors at all, I will explain more of why in later in this post. Lets start off with the average stats I got from my launch monitor. Im pretty sure he gave me the regular shaft so here is what those numbers are. Club speed: 92.33 (yea im not big hitter) ball velocity: 121.3 launch angle: 17.5 ball spin: 2,800 carry: 191.1 total: 211.1 PTR: 131.4 deviation: 2.9 ok these numbers looked great for me expecially the deviation, while I was test hitting I used the interlocking grip with my hands. He set me up with new grip etc etc. Total cost was around $465. So I got out on the course and used the same grip with my hands and lost around 7 balls by the end of the 2nd hole, most were lost on the tee. This kinda annoyed me seeing he said most of my shots are straight according to launch monitor but when I got out on course most were not lol. About halfway through the 18 holes I switched my grip to kinda a baseball grip, my fingers were not interlocked or overlapping and it seems to be better for me. It seems like when I use other grips I cant get the clubhead around in time and I slice. I still love this club because its a beast but I just cant believe the launch monitor is that great, not to mention the club they gave me was kinda scruffed up a tad, not horribly just seemed like its been test hitted a good amount. I know a lot has to do with my swing and im getting lessons on that this really has nothing to do with that but more to do how the launch monitor can tell me one thing and the exact opposite happens when I actually go out and hit the ball. I had zero good hits with my driver trying to interlock my hands but once I seperated them a bit I had some nice drives. Sure I had some slices but they were mild, I think I lost a total of 2 balls after I changed grip. All in all im still happy I purchased this club seeing im building a taylormade bag and wanted this club in there.
  6. From what im to understand the simulator is free but the launch tester starts at $30 for one club then goes up from there for how many you test. From what ive read their simulator is pretty useless it just gives base information. There are not to many golf shops around there to really choose from.
  7. Just to add on because I dont know how to edit your decision will not be what I choose I will choose what feels best during my fitting but just wondering on your opinions. Control is the big issue for me so I can give up 20 or so yards if it means im in the fairway more. And yes I know there are a bunch of drivers out there but these are the two that have peaked my intrest and dont want to spend the money to hit a bunch of them Wednesday.
  8. ok so it seems it can cost up to $100 or more to test hit a bunch of driver at GolfGalaxy and im not paying all that. I have tested the R11 on the course but not the Victory Red yet. Im going to see how much it costs to test those 2 and decide on one of those so the question is if you were given the choice between the two which one would you pick?
  9. Yea I'm For sure Hanna hit a ton of clubs on wednesday. As long as it's as forgiving as r11 I will buy cheaper one, I don't mind spending the money though. I worked the extra hours for this reason alone.
  10. My current driver is a 200 series taylormade driver that I bought like 7+ years ago, its junk and I took no time in purchasing it I just picked a driver, give me a break I was new to the game lol. Ok anyway I decided 2 weeks ago that I would work some extra hours and purchase a good driver and take time in picking one. So I had planned to go to GolfGalaxy on Wednesday to test hit some and make my decision. For the last 2 weeks I have only been using my 4 iron of the tee. Now with my old driver I would have a wicked slice that if you didnt hit it exactly square and in the middle of the club the ball would be gone. I would go through like 10 balls in a 18 hole course. Well yesturday my son and I were playing at our local club and I decided to try out his driver for the hell of it. I made sure to keep my head down instead of moving it up last second and hit it straight as a arrow. So today against my wifes best wishes I played again because wanted to see how I would do with my driver. Well I got to my local club and noticed they had some R11s you could play with if you wished. I though well I dont like the white on the top but what the hell. 1st of all the white dosent bother me as much as I thought it would and 2nd of all I think I love this club. On the 1st tee I topped the ball but I think thats just because I wasnt used to the driver length, on the 2nd tee which is the hardest tee shot on the course I smashed it. I hit the longest drive I have ever hit on that tee and it went straight as a arrow. On the 3rd tee I hit it to the woods on the left twice. It went straight but I guess I was just hitting the ball late or just aiming wrong but on the third shot it again went far as hell and straight. towards the end of the round I started to slice it again but its nothing like a slice on my old club and keep in mind this club was not designed for me its a test one. I mean the slices I do hit are just mild slices now instead of bye ball I will never see you again ones. I was really pushing towards the victory red driver but honestly after today im so not sure. Im still going Wednesday to hit clubs for a couple hours but after today with the R11 im really concidering it. I still have some issues with my swing and I know I need a lesson on that, really driving is my main issues I hit my irons pretty good.
  11. That's actually where I'm going, dicks. I'm also not going to buy the one they are pushing just because they say it's good, I plan on spending a couple of hours there. The whole lesson thing does not intreats me though at least not yet. I'm not super serious about this game, I do it for fun and to spend time with my son. Just wanted a driver to help me keep it closer to the fairway on missed drives.
  12. Ok I just got back into golf about a month ago when my 12 year old wanted to play this dinky par 3 by our house. I recently bought us both memberships at a local course. I bought these clubs years ago and all my clubs are fine except my driver. It's a taylormade driver but every time I hit it I'm in the woods to the right. As much as I love walking through the woods looking for my ball I figure my 2nd shot might be easier from the fairway instead of the gofer hole. Before anyone says it yes I know a new more forgiving driver will not cure my slice but a moe forgiving one might help none the less. Right now I'm considering the Nike victory red or the R11 but thought I would get suggestions also. Wednesday I'm going to a sporting goods store and test hit some before I buy, also not real sure on shaft either. I don't think I swing very hard but that might be because I'm afraid of killing wildlife in the woods. Amy suggestions would be appriciated.
