  2. I use Nike Slingshots and I love them. Gets the ball in the hair for nice soft landings on the green and very forgiving.
  3. Just a heads up on my progress. Took the advice of keeping that wrist locked, move my butt back and stop bobbing of the head with the inclusion of keeping the spine angle constant throughout the swing and let me tell you what a difference. I don't have all the power in the world right now since I am getting used to the new swing, but I am hitting it dead straight much more than after. Recent Captain and Crew tourney I believe my group used my drive 4-6 times and I rarely used to to hit 1 or 2 fairway a round usually. The times we didn't use my drives I was more likely still on the fairway. Still have the slice here and there, but hardly not every single swing. Thanks for all the help on this!
  4. I slice the hell out of my drive but my problem is all in the swing. I also have graphite regular flex irons and a stiff shaft graphite driver. I would just go to golf galaxy and test some stiff shafts and see what you think. If not post a video of your swing and people will comment on it and give you feedback. I did that and got great tips that I look forward to putting into my swing this weekend. Hope that helps
  5. If you don't want to pay anything go to a golf galaxy or Dick's or something like that and ask to test out a driver. The computer will tell you the swing speed and ball movement, etc. Anything over 85mph I would imagine you would need a stiff shaft driver.
  6. What is your swing speed and driver flex? You could have the wrong shaft on your driver
  7. Went to the range today and hit 4 buckets of balls. The first bucket pretty much was same old wicked slice. Comes out straight then the dreaded slice left. Went to second bucket and stopped the slice and even hooked a couple, but then were about 50 yards right of center, remember I am a lefty. I tried twisting hips and that pushed it further right and when it didn't rotate hips the ball would slice again. Same thing happened throughout the rest of the buckets. I separated my right shoulder and broke the collar bone was I was a kid (now 26) and I've come to the conclusion nothing will ever fix my problem. I was hitting the inside out swing with face closed and everything. My fingers are now paying the price with multiple blisters for hours spent at the range. Any pics or videos would be great otherwise the clubs are going to the bottom of the lake:~(
  8. I am going to try and go to the range tomorrow and post results. My main focus looks to be keep that left wrist straight with no bend at all and stop the knee action and see where that goes. I think it also could be a grip issue. I constantly switch between interlock and baseball grips
  9. I have read a lot about out to in swing paths causing this slicing problem. Other than my club face being open, am I getting an out to in motion? I would like to find a permanent fix and not just a quick fix that reverts back to my wicked slice
  10. Someone please help me with my swing. I almost 90% of the time slice the ball. The ball starts dead center most of the time and then takes off left. I am convinced it is so bad that it sometimes comes backwards like a boomerang. I just posted a video of my swing. Please let me know what you think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCJn47B5a3A
  11. I don't want to have to settle for this swing. I have noticed when I do get a hold of one dead straight that I gain another 20-30 yards on my drive. Any ways to practice staying on a place? I have tried the inward to outward swing and this is what it produced. My old swing had the ball starting dead center then taking off slicing right. I am going to have to take a video of both the swing mentioned. I also switched from an overlap grip to baseball grip with the thumb wrapped around the shaft. (Only way to prevent the wicked slice) Any thing to Possibly practice before I start lessons?
  12. I am up there in the handicap, but the reason why I have a high handicap is because I can't control the big drive every hole. If i Have say a 400 yard ish par 4 I am easily driver to wedge as long as it went into the fairway. I probably lose about 8 shots a round because of my driver and then another 5-6 on poor chips and missed putts. Sounds easy to correct, but damn its a pain in the ass trying
  13. So I decided not to throw my clubs into a lake and get back on to the course. Concentrated more on my swing and making sure the proper weight distribution through out the swing etc. I am a lefty so now instead of spraying the ball all over the place the ball stars off about 10 yards right to where I was aiming and then it comes back straight. Did I just control my slice some what better or is the ball now fading on me? I made sure my feet were square to try and it it straight. I honestly have no problem with this other than the one hole where trees were real close to the right of the fairway and I couldnt cut it close enough with it the ball going into the woods. Would switching the weights in my R11 fix anything? It is currently set at stock settings with a stift shaft and 9 degree loft.
  14. I am going to have some videotape me on my next trip to the range and post. Could it be the balls I am using enable more side spin? I seldom switch balls from callaway tour is, prov 1 and pro v 1x, nike tour, nike 20xis, and titelist nxt tours? I am trying to find everything that can possibly be wrong with my game and change it so I can enjoy a few round before end of summer. Nothing felt better than those first 3 holes yesterday after hitting every fair and green in reg and missing birdie putts by inches rather than attempting boggie and double boggie puts.
  15. Hi everyone! Just joined the forum, but have been viewing the forum for some time now on getting tips, reviews, etc. I used to play when I was in my early teens and then stopped playing for many years. I am now 26 and played around 20-25 rounds this summer and my score has stayed the exact same. I try and get to the range a day or so before I go play a round and nothing seems to change. If my irons are working, my putter wont drop and my driver never seems to work. I use an r11 9 degree with stiff stock shaft. At the range I can keep the ball dead straight 35 out of 40 times. Once I hit the course the ball starts off straight and then just darts left 90 percent of the time. (Im a lefty). Yesterday I went out for 18 and started boggie on par 4, missing the green in reg, par on par 5 hitting fairway and green in reg, and par on par 4 doing the same thing. After that things went to hell. Next hole hit a 6 then 7 and then apparently forgot how to swing a golf club. Back 9 I lost 15 balls in the span of 5 holes and then just got in my car and went home. Most miserable golfing day to date. I have tried every ball, swing stance, speed club, etc. How come my swing at the range just doesn't translate to the course? And when it does it is only a few times?
