  1. I'm more confused now than when I posted the question. I think the best advice I've read is to pay the course $30 to figure it for me. Then I will figure the rest out from there. On a side note, I am playing in my first night time tourney (glow ball) and I'm pretty stoked.
  2. I really appreciate the info and I will start asking at the course. I just didn't want to appear ignorant up there asking things they might not want to spend the time doing. Thanks again.
  3. I have a Hippo set. I started playing with a yard sale set and decided to get the Hippos because I wanted the whole package. I'm fairly new to the golf world but I'm fairly certain that they are more of a beginner's club. The irons are over sized. The bag is pretty wicked awesome compared to what I've seen in big names. Every time I play with new people they ALWAYS comment on the driver. Its as big as anything on the shelf and it hits long. The 3 wood is the same way along with the 3 and 4 hybrids. The putter completely sucks and the pitching wedge has left me cussing its very existence (probably more my fault). I became a little intimidated on the links because of the name Hippo and the hippo logo (more like a pig) on the bag, but to my surprise some of the older gentlemen said they used to swing Hippos and had good things to say. I have noticed a lot of high nosed folks out there who don't take you serious if you have a hippo on the bag. I'm in the process of putting together a set. I've swapped out the irons with a set of Titleist that are smaller faced but have improved my game so much the choice was easy. I'm salivating over the TM Superfast2.0 and it will be in my bag before long. The putter was the first thing I swapped, its an Odyssey now and I'm planning on putting it all in the new Maxfli Tour stand bag at Dick's. I thought about selling the Hippos but my son who is falling in love with playing now seemed excited about getting them so that's an easy choice as well. If I had it to do over I would probably not get the Hippos. If your inquiring about just the irons, mine look like the new stuff out there but I would recommend something that has better reviews. Save the money and invest it in better. In my humble opinion :)
  4. So I need to keep score like normal then when I'm done go back through the card and subtract an extra stroke from every hole and two strokes from any hole with a SI of 5 or smaller?
  5. Do people actually play that way? If I get two extra shots to par and I make it on the second does that mean I mark a par on the score card? And if I make it in the cup on the first "extra" shot do I get a birdie? That doesn't seem fair to the golfers who are actually good.
  6. We have quite a few courses at the lake but I am a member in Lebanon. Can you tell me why my profile says 10 skins? What does that mean?
  7. 18 miles south of Osage Beach, Lake of the Ozarks. Rurally speaking..
  8. Hi. My name is Troy from Missouri and I'm a golf addict.
  9. After doing some searching on here it appears that maybe I didn't figure my handicap correctly either. I was told to average ten rounds of 18 and subtract 72 from that number. So thats probably wrong huh?
  10. Hello all, I am new to this forum. I have been playing for a few years, not frequently but the last year I have been playing more and this year I joined a club. I know what my handicap is but I don't know what the purpose is. I see the handicap on each hole on the card but have no idea what it means. Someone said it was supposed to help your score but that didn't seem fair to me. What's the deal?
