I tried hitting a Taylormade Burner 2.0 3 wood at a local shop today. Can't get much of an idea on distance or if the ball is going right or left since I'm hitting into a net but the club just felt reeeeaaaalllly good and shot's felt solid.
My questions is... Is there a significant difference between the Burner 2.0 and the Regular Burner superfast? They look and feel pretty much identical with the exception of some color changes?
I don't have any fairway woods or a three iron so I was thinking of going with an Adams or Taylorade 18* degree hybrid. I get about 200 yards out of a 4 iron right now so I'd like to get a little more out of the hybrid I choose if possible. So far I like what I hear about the Adams brand and lately have seen allot of Taylormade Rescue 11's in bags with people I'v been paired up with on the course that love the club. Let me know what you think..
After thinking about it, I guess I'll give the Burner a try before I commit to the R11. If I can get the same distance and control With the Burner as I did with the R11, then I will be adding the Burner to my bag.
I wouldn't be using the adjustments to correct my swing error. I played two rounds with the R11 with normal settings and hit good shots pretty consistent with the exception of a couple sliced shots at the final holes.
Thanks for that information. Price isn't much of an issue and I don't mind getting a pre-owned club. I am pretty much sold after hitting another good round with the R11 today. I was also able to test out a Cleveland SL290 which I did not like at all. I'm pretty sure I don't want to mess around and try any other clubs after reading your statements about the Burner 2.0. I'm sure it's a nice club, but wont work for me as good as the R11 has. Thanks again for the reply!
A few days ago I played a local municipal course that had an R11 for demo with 10.5 degree loft and fujikura regular flex shaft. I jumped at the chance to play a full round with this driver since I have heard good things about it. I didn't try to bother with adjusting the club, I left the settings to neutral and standard loft.
Playing with this club was AWESOME. I was ready to buy this driver after only a couple of tee box shots going longer and straighter into the fairway.
After playing with this driver I'm curious if there are any differences between the R11 and the Burner 2.0 besides the adjustability features on the R11. If the Burner 2.0 is the same club without being adjustable I'd rather make a purchase on that club instead as I don't see myself taking full advantage of the R11's features.
Hi, I'm Chris and I'v been playing golf on and off since I was about 6 years old. Being 23 now I'm becoming more serious about being a better player. I look forward to chatting here on the boards with everyone about gear and general tips.
