  2. Another thought..... Have you ever notice a difference in the simulators at a golf shop vs. the simulators at an indoor golf center? It would seem that indoor golf operators would not set the simulators up to report on the high side as they are not typically trying to sell clubs (at least the place I go to Vermont Indoor Golf - South Burlington, VT.)
  3. I've always wondered about how the simulator calculates roll. Is there a way to change the settings to increase or decrease roll? I play in Vermont and we typically don't get great roll because of the wet conditions. I would be very interested to learn how the simulators are set up. Are they set up for hard pan? That would seem to corroborate the argument that they simulators are set to increase distance.
  4. Has anyone played the new course at Jay Peak? I live in Burlington, Vermont about 2.5 hours away and am thinking about making the drive up there to play it. I'd be curious to hear how it compares to some other mountain courses in Vermont (i.e. Country Club of Vermont and the new Stowe Mountain Course at Spruce Peak (an exclusive track). Follow me on twitter. Twitter.com/ryanheaslip I try to post about Vermont golf regularl.
  5. It seems like the media should at least by fostering new stars in case Tiger never gets it back. I realize how tought this is given the parity right now in golf, but it seems like the media would be wise to at least develop some other starts. The parity makes it tough though. Not many rivals.
  6. Totally agree that if I Tiger has class he will let his spot go to a deserving player. I'm surprised Tiger came back when he did. He would have been better off taking the rest of this year off. The President's Cup and Tiger would be a moot point if that was the case. Sorry, Tiger, but until you get your game back step aside and let a more capable player give USA the best shot at winning.
  7. I think this is also ties in with the USGA "move it forward" (or something like that) program. It makes sense. I'm all for anything that makes the game easier. I think the handicap system is obviously good, but its not enough. Especially in Burlington, Vermont where our season is so short I'd like to see the game made easier and increase participation.
  8. Which course do you prefer in Burlington, Vermont. BCC or VNCC. I'm a member at BCC, but VNCC is the longer and newer course. I would have to say BCC takes the cake though the green are awesome. Ryan Heaslip
