  2. thanks man for the reassurance. Kinda had a bittersweet goodbye with my old irons today with an 82 on the course. On to bigger and better things, hopefully!
  3. thanks for your service buddy. IYAOYAS. hahaha. Im at Nas Oceana, just about to finish my 5 year stint. And, I hear ya buddy, id play in a tropical storm 12 beers deep, but that's another story. . Just bought the tm burner 2.0 irons 4-aw. Gettin' 'em next week and too stoked.
  4. AGREED! I get off work and jump on the course as a single to squeeze in a twilight eighteen, and get held up more often then not. etiquette, that's golf. Letting me pass you isn't me telling you "you're garbage." Its telling you Im just trying to finish the god damn eighteen. Easiest way to pass though is to just ask the group in front of you to play through. etiquette. They tell you to "**** off " then ride them. Most golfers play like shit when a stranger is watching them. Eventually you'll get through.
  5. Thanks man me too! Hope I'm not tootin the horn to soon, before even playing a round. Was originally intending on the jpx 800 pros and couldnt find the sweet spot to save my life. how those workin' out for ya?
  6. New to the site as of yesterday. Way to excited about all the information and banter between golfers. Got a lot of info and purchased my first set of new irons today. Been playing hand me downs for my entire life. Havent been handed down a seventies round yet. Hopefully these new clubs do just that. In the Navy as an air traffic controller, find time to swing 2-3 times a week. Va courses are a little whack and not very well maintained but I could give a shit i love the sport.
  7. just bought the tm burner 2.0 irons. Getting them next week, after being fitted, to anxious to wait. I've read a lot of threads and people seem to be generally pissed off that taylormade had the audacity to beef up the loft and lengthen the shaft. Honestly I cant wait to nut a 7 iron 175 yards. Probably make my balls feel bigger. Marketing ploy or not, I'm excited to swing a round with these babies. And if the added distance doesnt work out for me I'll just renumber my clubs from 4-aw to 3-pw. HA!
  8. went with the burner 2.0. gave me the most consistent swing speed and ball carry and just felt right in my hands. had them fitted, get 'em next week, pumped.
  9. thanks a lot everyone for your input. back to the store today to swing again. gonna hit the 800 pros to see how they work for me once again. almost to the point where i wanna buy a forged club to force myself to learn how to hit them. ill post later.
  10. Alright, im between a 10-15 handicap (usually dependent upon my putting, and beer consumption) and im in the market for a new set to hopefully drop me into the seventies. ive swung the following in the simulator. mizuno jpx 800/800 pros tm cb and burner 2.0 titleist ap1/2 The first time i swung the 800 pros, i was doin work, and thought i had made up my mind. No more than two weeks later it felt as though every shot was a mis hit with them and i was putting a 6 iron a whopping 155 yards, which is sissy for me. I dont want to jump into a forged iron if im not ready, but given my current skill i think im ready to make the jump. I hit the burner 2.0 the same day and was nutting the six iron between 190-200. significant jump. granted its a simulator and who knows how accurate the distance is. the titleist ap's felt great, not a lot of feedback at all with the club and they carried very well. Either way i generally tend to strike the ball well and strong with a natural right to left on it. I am not to seasoned as to control a draw or fade. But i can usually put the ball where i want it with my alignment. As to say im a pretty decent golfer, looking for any tips or insight on any 2011 iron sets, and whether i should make the jump to a forged cavity back or stick with a name brand game improving iron. Thanks
