  1. just got back from playing Bully pulpit. Make sure and buy some of the gnat spray they sell at the counter, bring lots of balls and a camera. The back 9 is great! 15 when the wind is blowing is a test. Haven't played Hawktree but have heard from a very good golfer that it is outstanding.
  2. my father has been playing golf for 70 years and has never had one. My unathletic mother started golfing in her late 50's, and got one in her second year. I was 2 inches away yesterday...so close i could taste it!
  3. Orlimar 440 with an Aldila R shaft. Bought it 3 years ago when i was just getting back into golf after many years. At the time, i hit it against Taylors, Callaways, Pings... it just felt the best, sounded the best, and equalled the longest of the others. Now after about 300 rounds, and an improving golf game, I'm thinking of getting something new. I tried a Taylor R7 425, and hit it much straighter, and was hitting controlled draws and fades, whereas i'm always fighting a slice on the Orlimar (I hit the occasional fade with my 3 and 4 iron, but am basically a straight hitter).
  4. Phil, Did you have a big slice before the Orlimar? I have an older Orlimar 440 with a regular Aldila shaft, and while i love the feel, sound, and distance, i'm always fighting a fade, if not a slice. I have little to no fade on all my other clubs. If the ZX feels like the old club, but hits a bit straighter i'd be all over it. I hit a Taylor R7 425 (stiff) the other day, and while it felt clunkier, and possibly had a bit less distance than the Orlimar, it hit very straight.... could even hit a controlled draw, which is impossible for me with usually.
