So I was in the market for a new Driver this season and tested many and in the end loved the new Titleist 910 D3, but ended up buying a slightly used Titleist 909D3 w/ Vodoo stiff, for less than $200. I've hit the range a few times and love it. So of course had to buy a matching 3 wood and have one coming in the mail in the Titleist F3 13degrees w/ Voodoo stiff. (I tend to hit the ball high with a steep swing plane). I read the comparistons and reviews and like the look of the deeper face of the f3 vs. f2. Good reviews about hitting the f3 off the deck which is something I'd like to do a little more often from a game managment perspective... if I have a 3wood I can trust. Last 3-4 seasons I've been playing the r7limited Driver w/ Matrix Oz Stiff and R7 3 and 5woods w/ steal s300s. Loved the r7 driver, but had balloning issues with the 3 and 5 wood from time to time. So I'm pretty sure I'm going to love the F3 3 wood and I'm looking to pick up the 909 5 wood, but not sure if I should go with the f3 or F2. Normally I'd like to try them both at the range or pro-shop, but everyplace in my hometown is sold out of the 909s. So I need to buy before I try off ebay or an online retailer. I see the f2 has a more shallow face and wider face. Any suggestions if I should go with the f3 or f2 5 wood? What things to consider? I normally shoot low 80s off the blues on moderatley dificult tracks around Southern Wisconsin. Also, thinking the 18 or 18.5 loft, but not sure about that.
Thanks much!
