  1. wondering if anyone could help me find a suitable putter. i have more problems with speed than i do with hitting the right line. i switch back and forth between an odyssey two ball and odyssey rossie. i have trouble putting with the two ball from long range...to me, it feels heavy, and again, at least to me, doesn't provide enough feel for distance. the rossie is better, but wondering if there is anything better out there for me. would i be better suited with a lighter putter? i'll admit that i lack touch with this, so probably the harder i have to hit a putt to get it moving, the better off i'll be (i putted with a scotty cameron newport before - didn't like it because the ball seemed to "jump" off the face). what do you all think? i know putters are particularly attuned to personal preference, but if anyone could recommend a few for me to try, that would be helpful. thanks.
  2. that's what i've been told...they even said the amount of distance loss would depend on your clubhead speed (why i quoted some of my distances). i was further told that with a faster clubhead speed, these deep COG clubs tend to balloon more than they would otherwise. does anyone know about this?
  3. I am playing Cleveland Launchers right now but will upgrade to a "player's" cavity back soon...something like Mizuno MP60, Titleist 695 CB, Bridgestone J33, or the like. My overall handicap may be a little high for these clubs, but my iron play is by far my strength, so I figured, why not. Question is, my Launchers are pretty strongly lofted (PW is 45 degrees), but some of the other player's irons are weaker. I do have decent club head speed, and hit my 9 iron around 145, my 6 around 180 with the Launchers...how much distance should I expect to lose with the weaker lofted player's irons? Would it be sensible to strengthen my new irons a degree or two to keep my normal distances? Thanks.
  4. I have a Ping G2, stiff flex, 10 degree, with the stock TFC 100D shaft. i'm looking to swap it out for a lower launching lower spinning shaft (higher kickpoint). i prefer a lighter weight (65 gram) shaft. any good recommendations? i heard aldila made some good ones, grafalloy blue.... also, i'm planning on trimming the shaft down (the stock is 45.75) to something around 44.5 to 45. all things being equal, how much will trimming a shaft down about an inch affect things? thanks all.
  5. Hey all...i have always had trouble judging which club to use with uphill/downhill pins, perpetually landing them long and short. anyone know of a good guideline? someone told me that if you're going uphill, apparently about 7 degrees of incline equals another 10 yards (125 to pin, 7 degrees of incline, play it like 135). he said he got that playing with a range finder. i'd imagine it would be different for downhill and in any case, non-linear for both downhill and uphill pins. anyway, if anyone knows of a good set of guidelines to go by, it would be much appreciated. thanks a lot.
