  1. I have not been on a launch monitor, I imagine my swing speed is around 105
  2. I should really get a video up here but I think my swing mechanics are pretty good. I play off about 5 and can consistently play at this level..
  3. It feels like I am restricted and just can't swing any faster, whatever I try I can not drive it with enough clubhead speed to carry more than 260. My average is probably 240yards. I know it's going to be hard to help me without seeing my swing but maybe someone will have an idea for me to try. When I swing fast everything goes out the window and if I don't shank it I will hit it off the toe, and even if I do catch it sweet it feels like I am just not able to hit it any further. I think my tempo is suited to something like Ernie Els tempo. But the confusing thing is, is that I can hit my 9 iron 150... But my 5 iron only about 185-190. This can't be right, it seems as it the longer the shaft the worse I get, but this is not an issue with the quality of the strike... I think I am just going to now concentrate on doing torso excercises and working on my flexibility... But like I said it really does feel like I'm at a brick wall. :((
  4. I have been struggling to get distance with long irons and woods for some time, I am sure now that the problem is casting and need some advice as to what drills work best. I get around 250 yards carry with my driver and this is not enough for the level I want to play at... How much extra distance should I get if I start creating good lag in the swing? I mean, will this be the thing which gives me great distance at last? I have been struggling for so long and it spoils my game when I see long lads of 16 drive it past me, this area of my game really needs improving and like I said, I am sure that the angle between my arms and club is half of what it should be.. So I am guna focus on this part of my game 100% now from here on, and any advice from people on here would be much appreciated
  5. This is an interesting article http://www.rotaryswing.com/golf-instruction/golfequipment/golf-launch-monitor.php
  6. Although I think this may have something to do with having a lower spin rate. Can anyone comment on this? I also read that striking the ball at the top of the sweet spot, almost skying it, but not, would produce low spin rate/ flyers..
  7. Also I think my hips aren't flexible enough, I really need to work on this but not too sure the best way, maybe yoga?
  8. My current handicap index or average score is: 5-6 My typical ball flight is: draw The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: snap hook, I am also looking for that extra distance as my average drive is around 240-250 carry Videos: Hi, I would like some advice to tidy my swing up a bit... I seem to lift up at the top of my backswing, I read somewhere that this happens when you take the club inside too much... Is this the case with me? Any thing else you might spot I would love to hear from people All the best Joe
