  2. I would much rather prefer to walk however, often the people I play with prefer to takes carts so I selected both... My opinion is with carts you can't help but feel like your driving up to your ball, hit it take off and run up to the next shot do it all over again. Maybe it's just me but I feel like I can't slow down enough when I get up to my ball and take my time and hit my shot. But when I'm walking up to my ball I'm already thinking about the shot, I'm setting the pace and overall more "involved" with the shot process. Judging from the other post I have read it seams like that's the same thing we are all saying when we play "better" when we walk!
  3. I got two rounds of golf on my new wedge and I'm impressed. First time out I didn't get a chance to practice with it at all and was a little uncomfortable however, when I got to the end of the round I was getting more confident with the club. Last week I some good practice time in and was able to see some results chipping onto the greens! I just need to work on getting to the greens on less shots and I will have this down :) Thanks again for your input everyone!
  4. If your in the Cuyahoga Falls area and want to meet up at the Brookledge/Downview driving range shoot me a message. I'm usually available on Fridays.
  5. Is their any real difference between the 2009 and the new version out right now?
  6. Brookledge is right down the road from me! I go there to practice on the chipping green when I get some free time. I haven't played there yet, I need to since the city dropped 2 million in improvements!
  7. Much agreed! I'm leaning more and more to the hate side right now however, my game is slowly improving. I grew up in the Hudson area and now live in the Falls.
  8. I've been playing The Fairways at Twin Lakes in Kent. It's a nice 9 hole course that's reasonably priced.
  9. Good morning golf nutz. Hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day morning. The coffee pot is brewing, dogs sleeping on the couch and morning drive is on the TV life is beautiful. I'm missing out on lowering my scores because I'm playing without a wedge. I found this used Titleist 56 degree at globalgolf.com, http://www.globalgolf.com/product/golfclub/-/pid--1014695/wedge/titleist/vokey-spin-milled-tour-chrome-09.aspx?gd=3 It looks like a good option, haven't really heard anyone say anything bad about the Titleist wedges. I'd appreciate your feedback! Just want to make sure it's not a complete dud. Keep in mind I'm a 117 average (and improving ) and I don't plan on setting the world on fire, just need some help around the greens. Thank you Lee
  10. Hello fellow Stand Trap members, I’ve been trolling you website the last few days and decided to take the plunge and join in. Played my first 18 last weekend, and considering I didn’t end up pulling a Tin Cup and break every club in the bag except a 7 iron, I think I’m going to keep playing this game. It gives me some quality time outside, competing with close friends, enjoy a few adult beverages and it’s a great excuse to get away from the wife. Just don’t tell her that. Someone how I managed to stay out of the water hazards only sent a handful of balls into the woods and still had a great time. I’m looking forward to seeing you guys & gals on The Sand Trap and maybe even on the course. Lee
