  1. I'm considering spending 20k here so please some advice?
  2. Don't at all understand the recommendations... Your numbers are similar or faster than mine and my new set is x100 irons. I believe an awful lot of pros including Luke Donald are using this shaft.... I can't believe an r flex is going to work for you, I believe the best confirmation would be a session with the clever mizuno DNA system, as it can accurately measure the transition speed which is really important for flex. Also ( I have built my own clubs) play around with heavier swing and static weights (lead tape mid way down the shaft and on the head of a test iron). Another way of looking at it is that x100 is not ridiculously stiff, someone can confirm but maybe 8% stiffer measured in CPM. One other thing, I was measured on trackman as well and was told (in terms of inside / outside swingpaths) that the club spec can't do everything...... at some point the swinger has to get on plane....
  3. Think I have been working on the same thing..... Recently been reading impact zone for the first time and it is quite convincing in terms of NOT hitting up on the ball with the driver - and I think Byron Nelson advised this. I do think with modern equipment that a high gentle fade goes further - eg JB Holmes. Even Quiros is not routinely drawing the ball At my club we used to have a few "sneaky long" drivers with a draw maybe 5 years ago, but they all seem to hit high straight or a fade now. Also don't ignore the gear effect from hitting on the upper third rather than middle of the club, seems to help distance.
  4. Hi, new member here. I now some of you might be thinking, dreamer, not realistic, get a lesson etc. But this is a serious question. I am 38, always worked hard at my game, use Tour striker, tour tempo, and my short game including putting is much better this season after a fair bit of practice. Current index 7 but trying to go from "educated flipper" to flat left wrist, and specifically trying to get impact zone working reliably. I have a very nice local grass range, but I also have an opportunity to extend my garage into a space big enough to make full swings into a net, and maybe get a launch monitor as well. I know there are many other elements required to reach scratch, but purely in terms of swing repetitions how many balls a day have forum members hit to reach zero index? Currently hit 9 greens a round, driver swing speed 104 mph. Cheers, Chris
