just shot an 80 with 3 three putts. haha WHY CANT I BREAK 80!?

My high school golf season is over. Played right to my handicap, 84. Guess im going to go practice.

Well today is my sectional tournament. On the bus right now. For all of you that don't know, this is the first step to State for a high school golfer. I was told today, anything under 80 has a chance to advance. Thank you for all of the tips, I'll try the best to remember them on the course. I'm feeling only slightly confident because I've been all over the place lately. But hopefully I'll change that on the range pre-round. I'll be sure to post back here later about my results. Number 5 @ ivy hills country club. 130 yard par 3. Took my nine , hit a good shot, 1 bounce and rolled in the cup. First ever ace at age 16. This was 3 weeks ago.

My goal is by the end of the year to break 80. I've come very close so far having scores such as 81, 83, 80 and today another 83. I practice short game occasiolionally , but probably not enough. I know you guys don't know the way I play the game, but would you guess this is what is holding me back ?
