  1. Listen, in the end it just gradually came back. i still don't know what happened. Suddenly during the summer, i took a couple lessons, and little by little my confidence came back and i started turning into the stroke again. I think it's probably tiredness at first, then loss of confidence, then a negative spiral that starts where you basically just put everything back into question, and change everything to try to find it again. Quite scary honestly! and in the end, like love, when you definitely thought you'd never find it again, it happens! Best of luck, and no i wasn't sick, luckily! Tell me how it works out for you.
  2. unfortunately it's not Trackman... my brother plays there every day on the same machine and swing speed stays the same... huge mystery.
  3. of course it's club speed. what depresses me is that i actually feel stronger now than i did a few months ago. it HAS to be technical and maybe something happened that i don't do the same sequence as i used to. It's such a strange feeling to be able to hit it comfortably 260 one week and the next not know if you're going to break 200... Any advice still more than welcome. Next step shrink and hypnosis.
  4. been practicing almost every day since i started this thread. tried literally everything. not one ball above 91 mph on TM. there are mysteries in life, like who shot Kennedy and the UFOs in Rockwell, and then there is this. it's like it disapeared from one day to the next. i did "bang" my pinky toe of my right foot against my bedside table and it does hurt a TINY bit still but i can't believe something so small could have that effect. it's totally demoralizing, and i tried everything i can, so i guess i've reached a point where i'll stop for a few months and focus on something else. might be the best way of coming back with a bit of taste for the game. thanks for your responses though
  5. last summer i picked up some bad habits....and then i changed everything again! i'm just so tired to have to start over and over and over like i'm a beginner. it's never-ending! I'll try a few drills and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the responses!
  6. I was on a roll, totally nailing it. Big drives, pure irons, managed to even draw or fade them when i wanted to.... Ready as ever for the season beginning in a couple weeks. And suddenly, without warning: i lost (literally !!!!) 10% of swing speed! I know because i have a Trackman simulator near my home and i go there twice a week. What on earth can change to make you lose 10% of swing speed???? My driver went from 96-97mph to 88-89!!!! And of course the more i try to regain it, the slower i swing.... Help please, any help is welcome. quite depressing after having put so many hours into it. Thanks
  7. thank you very much for your responses! i will see how it goes in the next few days and probably post a video if there is no change. at least the short game improved this summer!
  8. Hello everyone, I would like to know if this ever happened to anyone before as it is really troubling me! On a roll for a year, practicing every week and playing every weekend, managed to get down to 5 handicap. I gained 30 yards (litteraly 30 with the driver, probably 15-20 with the irons) last year by working on my swing, spending a lot of time on the range, and playing as much as i could (once a week sometimes twice). I really feel that the distance gain made me feel more confident and playing shorter irons made everything easier, obviously. So i get down to 5, plan my summer holiday in a golf resort in Florida, play EVERY DAY. Starts great, playing my handicap, hitting great shots, huge drives.... And towards the end of the holiday I start realising that i can't hit it as well as i used to....actually i went from hitting 270 to.....230-240 at best! So of course i didn't practice during that month, i only played. But i don't understand what can "switch" in your golf swing to make you lose that much distance! Feeling i was doing exactly the same thing! And now the worst part: i spent twice 3 hours on the driving range since i came back and.....it's not coming back. If anything i'm losing distance. I know distance isn't everything blablabla, but this is really disapointing. I'm 44, not 70. Any help? Thank you very much in advance. Aldo.
