  2. Thanks @mvmac , hopefully the weather here lets up and can go and hit some balls!!
  3. I have tried to work on turning my shoulders on a better plane, but I cannot seem to get any feeling that works successfully. I always feel that I am moving all over the place. My miss is still really high and right. I occasionally hit the ball heavy too.
  4. There are a few things that I am trying to tidy up. Footwork being one so that I get a firmer left side but very much a work in progress. I am also working on giving myself more time from the top and get the hands starting earlier in the downswing. To me, I also feel that if my left arm worked more vertically, then I would perhaps create something different and possibly prettier. Im hitting it ok, most are either decent strikes, if not it is either very clean - flies well but feels skinny or it is out the toe of the club. My typical directional miss would be right with the irons and an over draw with the driver.
  5. @Hammer 4 - I have worked a lot on slowing my tempo down (ball ain't going anywhere on my backswing / transition). Really happy that this is now noticeable. Thanks for your kind words, just hoping that this will be a big year for me. @BENtSwing32 - Again, thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately, I am not a pro in Scotland, it is something that I am working towards. I have recently stopped playing professional soccer, so I can work on solely golf. At the moment, I have a UK handicap of 0, not sure how that converts into a USGA handicap.
  6. Now that the winter period is upon me here in Scotland, it is time to iron out my bad habits. I have a reasonable idea what is wrong, however can anyone help. Poor shot is a high shot right. Cheers in advance
  7. Guys, I have gone away and worked on my swing over the last few months. Think it looks a bit better now. What do you think?
  8. To me, the reason you are occasionally skying your driver and hitting the occasional slice with it is because of your angle of attack into the ball. It is very steep for your driver. How is your ball flight with your long irons also? Ball flight laws would suggest that you have a square club face so I would not think it has anything to do with the clubhead. When you get steep on a driver the things you describe can occur. A drill that I have found to be very useful for this is attached in the link below. Let me know how you get on. http://www.mytpi.com/mytpi05/exercises/exercise_detail.asp?exerciseid=997
  9. I think your swing is very good for the length of time youve been playing. I would second what chspeed has said. One thing I regret was neglecting my short game for the first year or so of my golf career. Skill acquisition in golf is something I have thought a lot about and personally, I feel that by learning the short game first, sets you up nicely for everything else. If you can strike a pitch well for example, you will probably be able to extend your swing easier to the full swing. A lot of drills when learning a skill are broken down into half swings or 3/4 swings, so why not start learning golf from this point rather than the full swing first off. So basically, what I am saying, is work on your short game (inside 100yards) for a time. This encourages good tempo and reasonably good swing mechanics. However, if you do want to smash driver, what I would say is try and keep your back foot (right foot) planted to the ground for longer. Look at Rory McIroy's back foot here. This is Rory at impact whereas you are Just a little something to think about but you are doing great in my eyes. Hope this helps.
  10. I would definately say that my feet are aiming right of target, I think this is from a few years of aiming left and have over compensated. It is something I will work on. I was aiming for a pole that you can see in the distance and there was a strong left to right wind but it certainly looks as the ball is starting left and have pulled it. The bad shot I have been trying to eliminate is the one that is cutting right. This was because I got so steep on the ball however. I will keep working on it at the range tonight and let you know how I get on. Thanks for your analysis. Currently 35 - 45 mph winds here just now so practice will be fun. But Im not going to improve with no practice.
  11. Logman Generally I pride myself in being very accurate. However over the close season, I decided that I needed to change a few things, mainly because I was getting far too steep robbing me of distance. I want to be able to hit my 6 irons as far as the guys on the PGA. At the moment in around 35 degrees fahrenheit, I manage about 184 average with my 6 iron but realise that the guys on tour are hitting it aroung 15 yards further so this was the main reason for the changes. What do you guys all think about my transition? This is also something I feel looks too quick which could, in my view cause the club to waver off line from square? Thanks for all your help so far.
  12. Thanks for your help Beachcomber. I will give this a bash and get back to you with my progress. The reason I do not like my swing is just because in my eyes, it does not look natural. Perhaps this is just my own biased perception however compared to a Rory mcilroy, tiger or Adam Scott, it seems way off the mark.
  13. Please find new video below.
  14. Hi everyone My name is Andy and am a low handicapper from Fife in Scotland. I have now been playing for 4 years and shoot around 70 / 71 consistently. My ultimate goal is to turn professional in a few years time, however need the key to open up the door to shoot 65 / 66 consistently rather than sporatically. My lowest every round was a 63, but want to shoot this more regularly. Look forward to chatting to a few of you as we go along. Thanks
  15. I've been Playing Golf for: 4 years My current handicap index or average score is: 70/71 My typical ball flight is:Straight / Slight Draw The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Squirty one right Hi everyone I am new to this and still finding my feet. I thought i would start here, if you let me know what you think. I regularly shoot around 70 / 71. My goal is to turn pro in the next few years. I hate my swing but it is effective so go easy on me guys. My bad shot is a lowish squirty shot going right.
