I agree. Lateral movement with the head anytime before the ball is in flight is not necessary.

Thanks for the welcome. I would have to respectfully disagree. Look at as many images as you can of pros at impact face on, and you'll see their heads behind the ball. V1 is a great app to see lots of that.

In the downswing, get as much of your body forward of the golf ball while keeping your head behind it. You'll be surprised how naturally your hips shift first, then turn. So rather than say " keep the head down" I would say " keep the head behind"
