  1. I'll be playing at Lakeside after work today to get a feel for the course. Haven't played there in awhile. If you wanna come out and walk 9, I'll be there ... just message me a heads up. Beautiful weather.
  2. Yessir. I have a scramble at Lakeside Saturday. Lookin like some rain the next few days, when are you available?
  3. Thank you. I tend to over-exaggerate everything that I'm told I am doing wrong, used to be a hunchback.
  4. Thank you. I will try to remember all of that. Part of my problem overswinging is throughout my practice session I tend to have more and more swing thoughts enter my head and I guess I try to get them all in before I get to the top! Haha. Work in progress, I agree, I will definitely cut it down to 80%. Most of my irons travel pretty standard, 3-6 irons are relatively low ball flight.
  5. I've been Playing Golf for: 5 years My current handicap index or average score is: 14 My typical ball flight is: draw The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: hook, block Ok, this is quite embarassing seeing your swing first time. I used to slice alot , its been a hook for 2 years now. Used to have a problem swingin out to in, now i know im too in to out, my problem is how can i swing more straight (out to in) feeling for me without casting, i have tried this and consistently hit low pull hooks. Pay no attention to the alignment sticks as that wasnt set at targest. I also know i have a strong grip, thisis from getting more behind the ball, when i tiltmyshoulders away frm the targest that naturally strengthens mygrip. Not sure how to combat that either. I need advice on my waist high position on my backswing and my left wrist at the top. i feel that its cupped, not sure why i do that. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated Videos:
  6. Sounds good. I will!
  7. myself as well, alot of the above mentioned courses. are you a cats fan? sure didn't like what i saw from uofl on our floor last night ... =/
  8. what's your home course?
  9. Also just read the "rules" section, sorry for the bad quality. I will use my camera (not phone) next time and re-post.
  10. You really have played all the good courses around here! Big Blue at Uclub is the tough one, definitely a challenge for any golfer regardless of level. I actually played Old Silo this past Saturday, they have let it go just a tad, they are taking out alot of the bunkers because they are just too hard to maintain. One of the best layouts of any course around here though. Good to hear from some folks that have been down this way!
  11. Thanks. Yes we do have some nice courses, IMO. I am a public course kinda guy and we have alot of municipals as well as very lenient nice clubs around that are very nicely set up. Old Silo, The Bull, Kearney Hills to name a few. The private tracks are tough to get on if you arent a member though. Are you familiar with Heritage Club up there? Nicest course I have ever stepped foot on, lucked into playing it for my previous job.
  12. Thanks! It is up now.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmRrEV8QQlk&feature;=youtu.be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hlx6-sHWGqg&feature;=youtu.be Videos: I've been Playing Golf for: 5 year My current handicap index or average score is: 93 My typical ball flight is: hook The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: HOOK Any advice would be greatly appreciate, began golf as a slicer now I have a terrible hook. Anything with less loft than a 7 iron is uncontrollable. Very uncomfortable over the ball as I tend to really want to grip the club very strong naturally which I know promotes the hook so I fight it best as possible. Thanks.
  14. First off, thank you all for welcoming me. I haven't any idea of how I found the site but I'm sure it was a part of my relentless google golf searches to help with my swing. I have played golf for about 6 years now. I have completely flip flopped my swing since I began which I suppose is pretty common. As a college baseball player normally would, I began golf with a vicious slice, followed by ONE summer of superb golf, followed by a rabid hooking, blocking machine. I shoot 88-93 most days and feel like I am stuck in my mediocre stage of golf. I came to the website primarily for helpful tips and instruction with the possibility of expanding my golfing network as well. I am a UK fan of all sports and the Cincinnati Reds. Sports are my passion and golf keeps me competitive. Again, thanks for having me and I will quit rambling like Rand Paul now....
