2 more videos, 3 shots FO: 3 shots DTL: I took Golfingdad's advice and made some changes to my posture at address. I dropped my shoulders and eased some pressure on the lower back. For the 3rd shot in the last DTL video, I think my swing path is going from outside to inside, that is why I had a bad slice. And finally picture of my swing at 3 O'clock position. I still need to work out my footwork, arms and body posture. It looked "loose" and I think I need to firm them up and make the movement more fluid. In order to correct my chicken wing, I had used minimal hips turn. So to conclude, I tried some hip slide, changes my posture and corrected my chicken wing for this practice. I will continue to do these few area for a few more sessions. I might tried inside-out swing path to cure my slice and use more hip turn for my swing. Please comment. Thanks for reading! ^^

Hi guys, went for a practice yesterday and tried to get the left chicken wing sorted out. After looking at my comparison pic I posted earlier and numerous practice, I managed to straighten the chicken wing. Below are the videos, 2 shots FO: These 2 shots were taken when I was still experimenting the throwing of both arms in the followthrough. My arms at the top finishing were stiff. 3 shots FO: The finishing looks a little better and more fluid.

thanks! it's not too much at all. what you pointed out is the fundamental. if my fundamental is wrong, most likely my swing will end up wrongly as well. i guess i'm too stiff. gotta have a much relaxed posture. i'm so overwhelmed by you guys help! i'll remember to try out everything during my next practice and will try to upload more videos. Thanks!
Not to overload you with information, but I notice your posture in the latest video. You might want to give this thread a read as well ... http://thesandtrap.com/t/56069/good-golf-posture/0_30
thanks iacas for taking the effort to draw those path for me. Can I clarify with you that the green colored lines are the swing path and the red colored lines is where the ball is going? what about those blue lines?
Please don't do that. Your path is to the left.
Thanks, I got what you mean. At the same time, I googled and found aome swing path pictures describing some of the different swing path. I am already having problem with fade and slice ball flight. I'm afraid that if I were to do more inside out approach, my fade and slice problem will get worse. I am currently trying to tackle my fade and slice by turning my wrists at impact. Anyway, here's the video again. 2 shot with 7 Iron - Down The Line

You are right on Mamba, I did noticed my right heel coming up, but I did not think much about. I was taught on the hip slide, but totally forgot about. I had a look at the thread and it was really beneficial. Quote: Originally Posted by MambaGolfer The swing is looking better, post a down the line video if you can to check on posture and plane. It also looks like you're struggling to get your weight forward (on your left side) for the downswing. Your hips are spinning out and your right heel is coming up, sapping power from your swing. Check out this thread for a better explanation of getting your weight forward on the downswing: http://thesandtrap.com/t/29616/the-biggest-secret-slide-your-hips/540 Meanwhile, I went for another practice today. I am still experiencing problem with my leading arm after impact. I can feel the awkward twist on my left arm during the followthrough. I searched online for the reason for the bent left arm at impact and got the following: Quote: It's a power leak and will cause alot of problems with consistent ball striking-but you already know that. To answer your question, swinging more inside to out at impact will help you straighten that left arm and you will almost immediately notice more consistency and distance. You mentioned scooping, yes it could cause that but to get to the root of the problem, the swing path produces the bent left arm, ie. more out to in. Also, the swing should be a smooth coil but instead I see chicken wingers sway or if they coil, they are putting way too much effort into the downswing and also, not getting off their right side on their downswing. Here are things you can try: get a swing thought for awhile until it becomes natural that you should try to straighten your left arm coming into impact. coil on your backswing then simply allow your body to uncoil get off your right side beginning with the downswing, not suddenly at the end, good weight transition will help swing more in to out on the downswing make sure your hands lead the way on the downswing rather than your clubface don't put alot of effort into your downswing, it's simply a result of the backswing stored energy not a sudden umph. hope this helps. I am not so sure what did it meant by swinging more inside to outside? Can anyone help me out? Anyway, below are the DTL videos with Iron 7.

Ben & Mamba, thanks for the reply. I tried to search for videos on the wrist hinge, the video mainly revolves around the L-shaped arm at the takeaway. Is that what you guys are talking about? Can anyone of you point me to some videos for cure? Thanks!

Here's a comparison pic I did using V1 Golf Analysis. I noticed most pros maintained their triangle during the followthrough. The left arm collapsed only when the shoulders stopped turning. I am trying to find out what is the reason for my left arm not able to stay straight after impact. Could it be the plane during the followthrough? Downswing? Is my shoulders not fast enough? Thanks!
-
Thanks, I also realised that I was over extending in my back swing. Perhaps it was due to my left arm flexing or my backswing was rather too fast.

Thanks guys! Already done so with the swing thread, just swinging by here to say hi. ^^

Hi guys, I'm new and just joined this forum today. I started my beginner lesson 8 months back and have been trying to improve my swing. 2 months back, I decided to go for one-to-one coaching in Thailand. It did improve my swings, but I am still far from doing decent shots. I will most probably be going for further lessons when I visit Thailand again in the middle of the year. However, I am thinking of seeking advice and coaching from the online community during this period and hopefully I will be able to get something good out of it. Meanwhile, I had upload some videos over here http://thesandtrap.com/t/65453/my-swing-eyz4eva . Feel free to give you comment! Hope to hear from you guys soon! Thanks!

Two more videos taken last night after a short break from swing practise. With Iron 7 FO: With Iron 7 Down The Line: Swing getting a little rusty after the break. But the last few shots (DL) were better, after I squat a little. I also find by turning my wrist during the impact helps to make my ball fly straight. Can anyone advice on this?
