  1. hey guys! i finally fixed my slice almost completely today and wanted to share how i did it for those of you having the same problems. i went to the range and started with half and 3/4 swings with a glove underneath my right armpit and then taking the glove out to go on to a full swing. i constantly put the glove back underneath my right armpit when it seemed to slice and took it flew straighter and now im hitting balls dead straight. hope this helps y'all

  3. thanks for the input. i guess ill just go see a pro to make things easy :)
  4. Hey, I've been having some problems with consistency and slicing: My 8 iron is about 130-140 yards but I tend to slice very often and far. Would practicing with only one iron to improve consistency and prevent slicing be good? on a side note: i tend to slice less when i lift the angle of my swing plane at the top of my swing- how much does this affect slicing? Thanks!
  5. just hold on with just enough grip pressure to prevent the club flying out of your hands when swinging. remember that your not trying to hit the ball with maximum power but that the ball is just in the way of your swing. all your wrists and arms should be doing is to be in line to hit the ball at address. the power should be coming from shoulder turn and the lower body.
  6. replying to my own post cuz i cant edit for some reasons :S i've also got different views on wrist cock, one saying that you should naturally let it hinge and others saying the opposite
  7. hi guys, i was told that i try to hinge my wrists by force rather than let it naturally. can anyone give me tips on fixing this? thanks
  8. hi guys, i have been told by my dad's friend (who used be a tour pro) that: when i swing, i lift/straighten my head and upper body when it should still be bent (especially during impact). he also told me that this might be due to me thinking of myself to be too tall (possibly preventing digging into the ground). any tips or drills on fixing this?
  9. hi guys, i just wanted to know if anyone has experiences from going to indoor screen golf places or just those ones with just a net in front of you. how is it and can you get decent practice out of it? i will going there instead of an outdoor range for a few weeks since i can go for free :D but never have been or seen it.
  10. after you start your downswing with turning your lower body and core, and your club is near parallel to your waistline, perpendicular to your left arm (90degrees)...should your next part of the swing mostly come from the wrists to hit the ball? since the momentum of turning your lower body does the first bit of the swing, what motion or body part(s) should bring the club to hitting the ball? hope you understand what i wrote :)
  11. thanks for all the info guys i have just recently picked up golf again after learning as a kid. so basically i would say im a beginner.- only hitting balls at the range for a few weeks i definitely need to work on consistency and preventing the ball from slicing.
  12. hey guys, i am currently using my dad's spare set of clubs because he is about the same size as me. however, i am thinking about getting new clubs for the summer and im on a budget. do you think i should just get them off the rack or get custom fitted clubs? if so, should i get only the driver fit or even the irons? any brands you recommend? although, i have recently started playing golf, i plan on playing consistently.
  13. for right handed golfers, on impact when your weight is shifted to your left leg and your hip is moved outward towards the left, should your left leg be flexed or straight?
  14. my dad has told me i need to fix my follow through swing and to keep my upper body and head over the ball after impact to fix slicing and the ball popping up. he has said that i lift my upper body too early too see how far i hit to the ball any tips on slicing? thanks
  15. Hello all, I know this is different for everyone, but I'd like to know if hitting a 9 iron around 110 yards and 6 iron around 130 is decent for a very beginner golfer? thank you
  16. Hello all, I have not played any golf since I was in middle school but I have started to pick it up again recently and noticed some problems at the range I have had problems with my irons: slicing the ball towards right and other times, the ball popping high up (only going about a 100 yards but very high) rather than shooting out. My dad has told me to work on the follow through of my swing after impact and keeping the upper body/head bent over the after impact, because he is telling me I am looking up to see where the ball is going too early. Are there any tips to help fix this? And, are the tips my dad gave me useful for these problems? Thank you.
