  1. Thank you very much IvanSanders! Now let me see if im grasping what you are saying! So with adjustment one bend more at the knees I get and you say without sitting on your hips. By this are you saying to keep my shoulders out in front of my hips? And by pushing the club out do you mean just more space between me and the club? Should my arms hang down loosely or be pushed away from the body more? With adjustment two is my leg straightening what you are seeing as uncoiling or just rotating the shoulders too soon?
  2. I meant to say my right leg not left
  3. The only things I notice (keep in mind I have no idea what im talking about) is there is a lot of head movement and I dont feel like my left leg should be straightening as much as it is.
  4. I've been Playing Golf for: 4 months My current handicap index or average score is: No clue My typical ball flight is: Short Slice The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Slice with a driver Videos:
  5. I have been doing a little research and read a lot about an open face at the top of the backswing. I think this may stem from me feeling like my backswing does not go back far enough and breaking my wrists in an attempt to get the club back farther.? Should my wrists remain relatively straight in relationship to my arms? I start to break my wrists over in the takeaway is this a bad idea?
  6. Thanks everyone i will def give these things a try! I feel very comfortable and natural in my iron swing but not so much with my driver would you say your torso is at roughly the same angle weather your holding an iron or driver or no?
  7. Is there a drill I could do to ensure my club face is squarelike concentrate on leading with my wrist where a watch would be? (If that makes any sense
  8. I have only been playing a few months and when I started I had a horrible slice right off the face of the club. Ive done a lot of work and now it starts left and starts to fade right at about 100 yds? I know I need lessons and had one scheduled and had to cancel for financial reasons. I am still saving but wondered if anyone had any thoughts or ideas.? Thanks!
  9. Haha that is hilarious but im expected to wait patiently for her to finish her level of plants vs zombies or watching toddlers and tierras and im avoiding spending time with her if I do something I want to do while she is doing that! Go figure!
  10. The twins arent bad to take care of but the two year old can be a handful. Ive thought about taking him to the driving range but there is a lake right beside it and it makes me nervous!
  11. I was considering purchasing a callaway practice putting green with auto return but didnt know how much good it would do.? I really want to work on my putting but I have to drive at least 30 minutes to find a decent green and with twin six month olds and a two year old time is at a premium. I have only been playing a few months and need a lot of work but didnt know how much good putting on a flat surface with a big hill at the end would do.? What is your opinion? Thanks
  12. Still waiting to hear back about my lesson but I played 18 yesterday and after just working on my swing instead of hitting balls and working more on my short game the difference was amazing! I got a couple of straight drives (only one last time) and they both came when I was able to talk myself into a nice easy swing. My irons chipping and putting were like I was a completely different player! I played so poorly the first two times I played (this is the third time not counting one round of par 3) that I couldnt really keep track but I had to have dropped 15 strokes and I attribute most if not all of it to stopping hitting and working more one the feel of the swing and stepping through and making sure I reach the right points! I shot the same yesterday as I did my first round of par 3! Thanks so much!!!
  13. My clubs as of now are driver 3 and 5 wood 9-3 iron pitching wedge and sand wedge.
  14. Would any of you guys consider adding a cheap hybrid to the mix at this point? What are the advantages and drawbacks of hybrids? It is my understanding they work as a replacement for some of the longer irons, if I were to add a hybrid would you still recommend trying to become efficient with the long iron ive replaced? Thanks!
  15. I really appreciate the input from everyone! If thats what it takes thats what ill do. I have a call into the local pro to schedule a lesson waiting to hear back! Im very excited! I used to be big into competative archery and it was the same way but there wasnt really anyone around to give lessons. It is a lot easier to build good habits than break bad ones! Thanks for reminding me of that and wish me luck!
  16. I tried a few drills I found online this evening along with a few stretching routines that I think will really help in the long run. My only fear is that I am trying to tackle too much at once but maybe that is the best way to do it. Is there any one drill in particular that you would recommend for a beginner to try to buid a good base from?
  17. Also I meant to ask, are there different swings , and therefore, different drills for different clubs or the same fundamentals at different angles?
  18. Thank you so much! Is there any drill in particular? I saw one drill on you tube that talked about the different positions of the swing but i found it very hard to hold the upper parts of the back swing.? Is this something that will come with time while doing these drills?
  19. Everyday when I come home I grab a wedge, my driver, four foam balls, and a yellow practice ball. I hit the four foam balls with my driver and the practice ball with my wedge. I mainly work on making my swing fluid and consistant (definitely not there yet). I have heard some people claim you can get a good idea of contact with the foam ball and others say to put no stock in it. I feel like I can tell to some degree but im not sure. My question is sometimes the swing feels good yet the ball may slice. Should I worry more about what the ball is doing or how the swing feels? Also for this type of practice is there any one thing you would recommend I concentrate on as a beginner? (Ie proper rotation, head stability, grip, stance, etc) I looke forward to your input! Thanks
  20. I really appreciate all of the input and hope at some point to have something to give back to this forum that has been so helpful and encouraging to me! In the meantime is there anyone out there that needs to know how to hit a wicked slice? I can show you how!!
  21. I figured it was something like that! Thanks a million for the links!
  22. I have only been playing for about 3 months. I started out with a horrible slice. It would shoot right as soon as it left the club head. Working on my grip it has improved greatly but still starts to fade right at about 75 yards. I was going to start a my swing thread but still trying to get my wife to let me use her camera. I've gotten some low quality videos and the things that are most noticeable to me is too much head movement at the top of my backswing and at the same time my head starts to move my right leg straightens and my knee locks.? Are both of these things possibly due to lack of flexibility? Ive been working on stretching by putting my hands on the wall and swinging my legs. Is this something that will improve over time or is there something in particular I can work on in my swing to help with this? Thank you!
  23. I was thinking that but dont even know where to start with a putter!
  24. Yeah yo yo lll was supposed to be you!
  25. I actually just spoke to a pro that does lessons that I work with and have spoke to other area golfers that think be very highly of him and his lessons so Yes that is in the very near future! Thanks for your comments and sorry for the spelling I downloaded a new keyboard on my phone and the autocorrect does not work that well to begin with and really does not agree with this forum! I guess I should proofread more!
