I meant to take a pic this morning but forgot I will do that this evening! I had a friend at work offer to sell me a used burner for 50 bucks. Minus what I would think is some normal scuffing on the bottom it looks to be in really good shape. Does anyone know how old this model is and if it would be worth the money?
As a beginner I am using some cheap hand me down ram gold clubs. I've been looking at maybe buying a used driver and people have told me to make sure it isn't cracked. I was cleaning up my clubs today and noticed the finish on the top of the driver is popping off right behind the face.? Is this bad andpossibly a sign of a crack?
Oh well it looks like it will do what I want and for five bucks why not give it a try. My buddy ripped me and said it looks like it could be a woman's bag....if it is I get to hit from the ladies tee right!?? Hahaha
Played 18 today and my pw and lw were much better and even drove the ball straight a few times! Irons however were awful! I don't know if I was pulling my head or just scared to get under the ball for whatever reason but I was topping everything! I would say 70 percent of my iron shots never left the ground and rolled about 20 yds!?
Thanks again for all the pointers if nothing else I'm going out tomorrow with a little more confidence! One more question - I have always gone to the driving range but this year my friend gave me my first set of clubs. It's a cheap old set of ram clubs. I would like to update them but money is tight. If you were just starting out what would be the first club you would upgrade? I really want a new driver but want to see what the smartest move would be.? Thanks again!
I feel like I'm getting somewhere! I hit the ball around at home and I was trying to make contact with the ball with the club perpendicular to the target line if that makes sense. I let the left wrist flatten out (which feels much more natural anyways) and with about a 40 percent swing the ball is going twice as far as 100 percent before and the trajectory looK's much better! Should all swings contact the ball with the hands forward of the ball? Like should I contact the ball with my driver this way? Also with short chip shots if I shorten my back swing to hit a shorter shot should my follow through stop short or be a full follow through? I'm sure these seem like silly questions from a newbie but I appreciate you guys taking the time to answer more than you'll ever know! Thanks again!
It goes straight and wwould be a gorgeous flop shot if that was what I were trying to do!! :) I will try to post a video later this week. Thanks again!
I am new to the game and I'm sure I need lessons but don't have the money at the second. I finally straightened my drive out but I hit my lob and pitching wedges extremely high and short- lob 25-30 yards and pitching around 50. I had a friends who plays slot tell me I was probably breaking my wrists to subconsciously help the ball in the air. I tried tonight to make sure I was keeping my wrists straight and nothing changed.? Is it possible I'm just getting under it too much? At the driving range hitting them off of the mat a lot of times I hit the mat before the ball that's why. I was thinking that. Thanks in advance!!!
