I'm hoping someone may know their Vega wedges and can help. I played a Vega RAFW-08 / 58 degree wedge for couple of years, somehow managed to lose it somewhere! Looking at the latest Vega range, they now sell the VW-08 / 58 degree. I want to get the exact same club, feel, preferably brand new. The VW-08 wedge looks identical in every single way. I cannot find any resources online explaining the difference between the RAFW and he VW. Does anyone know? They look like the exact same club to me, just a different name. Thanks.

Ok, will do. Didn't read the guidance first.

I've been Playing Golf for: 3-4 years My current handicap index or average score is: 95 - 110 My typical ball flight is: Straight or Fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Fat Shots and High Shots Videos: Sorry about the cropped video... Still struggling a lot to come down on the ball rather than scoop it. Also for some reason I just cannot stop standing up during the swing. If I don't stand up, I always chunk it. Also, really struggle to keep my head down.

I'm hoping to get some advice. I suffer with a higher ball flight than I would like. I've noticed that when you watch the follow through of a good golfer, the right arm is extended and the club forms a straight line very late the follow though, sometimes at 2-3 o'clock on an imaginary clock face. I am finding this impossible to achieve. in my case, nothing I do can prevent the club head catching up with my right arm just after impact. By the time my right arm is parallel with the ground, there is a 90 degree angle between my arm and the club. Any ideas on what's making this so difficult for me? Thanks !

Hi all, Now it's getting cold, a couple of friends and I have decided to save our green fee's and have a golf weekend away feb-April. We're in UK. Does anyone have any reccommendations? We want to keep it as cheap as possible. What are the most popular European golf destinations? Thanks !

Thanks saevel25, that's really helpful feedback. The video is really useful too. Will definitely try to fix this. This could also be the reason I sometimes struggle to get my hands in front of the ball at impact... Because I've swayed miles away from the ball! Many thanks.

I've been Playing Golf for: 2-3 years My current handicap index or average score is: 90+ My typical ball flight is: straight The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: left and right misses Hi, Few months ago I was really struggling to hit anything at all. I've spent quite a bit of time at the range and Ive eliminated slices and fat shots. But... I still cannot easily shot 90 or less. I strike the ball quite a bit better than my playing partners, but I always lose the round! My ball flight is usually dead straight, just not in exactly the right direction. Any tips for better accuracy? Swingwise or alignment? Aiming with my feet just isn't working well for me. Video: Thanks!

I'd be grateful for advice here. I've been trying to figure out why I suddenly can't hit the ball straight at all. Got so frustrated I decided to video my swing and now know the problem... For some reason I've started striking the ball with an open club face. Should I: A) work on rotating the club more or B) just take a stronger grip Any ideas on which is the best method to cure this? I want to choose whichever method is the 'correct way' to cure this problem. Thanks very much for any replies.

Thanks for all the good feedback. Having read the posts I think I know what my problem is. Until now, my method has been: 1. Hit 50 balls...hmm, Not great. I must not be doing something the pros do in their swing. Solution - watch some videos and replicate. 2. Hit another 50 balls... Excellent. Something went well, figure out what I changed and exaggerate it. 3. Play 9 holes with my new pro swing. Think plane, think do not roll wrists, think left shoulder down, think hit in front of ball. oh damn, can't hit the ball to save my life I'm starting to believe that great ball strikers are able to hit so well because they've grooved a swing and learned a feel over years and years, rather that following their own secret method of swinging that produces great results. In fact, I'd say that sometimes maybe they don't even know how they do it! Just natural feel and instinct from lots of practice. Maybe there really are no shortcuts in the painstaking game of golf :-)

There are so many drills and tips around, I wondered what people's personal favourites are? i.e. Drills which have stuck with you and that you return to when things go off track. Also, I'm interested to hear about drills or swing thoughts that made an immediate difference. If you don't know what the drill is called... A description would be good. Thanks in advance.

Thanks David, good post. I think it's time to start again with quarter swings at the range. My problem I think is that I've tried to be too creative and have tried really hard to learn all manner of shots, although haven't mastered any of them too the point where they'll lower my scores. Maybe I've overloaded myself with swing thoughts, that I haven't now got a stock swing. I'll post back again soon. Thanks

I hope so. It happened at a time I really wanted to play well.. I was with people who I was playing with for 1st time and had been previously telling how good I was getting. So embarrassing.

I wonder if anyone has experienced this.... I have been playing for 2 or 3 years and have made steady progress. I'm a bit of a tinkerer and have paid a lot of attention to everything about the golf swing. Around 1 month ago I was shooting low 90's and could easily control trajectory, playing gentle draws and fades on command. Then suddenly, I had 1 bad round and now I cannot hit the ball at all. It's like I've just picked up a club for the 1st time. When I'm addressing the ball, I'm not even sure if what plane to take the club away in. I'm struggling with my wrists and I'm slicing low and wide on every other shot. I played 9 holes earlier and hit 1 good shot. The rest were scuffs along the grass, or 45 degree slices. Please help! What has caused this meltdown. I'm annoyed as I've worked so hard on getting better and it feels like it's all been stripped away in an instance :-( Thanks all

Yes. Makes sense. Thanks.

Oh really, is that what it is?

iPhone for video. Not chatting! Obviously :-)

Hi, I try to use the iPhone when possible at the range. I think it helps a lot. I've noticed that when I begin my downswing, the club shaft is bending away from the swing direction (as you would expect). However, as the club reaches the lower part of the swing, the club looks to be flexing the opposite and wrong direction? Is this my swing? i.e applying power too early in the swing? Or perhaps I need a stiffer shaft? I'm sure I'm losing power here. Thanks.

Thanks for the comment. I've just read the post you pointed out. It's a good post, I'm going to try it at the range. Swing is OK. But it's nowhere near as consistent as it should be after 2 years of golfing. Thanks for the feedback.

I've been Playing Golf for: 2 years My current handicap index or average score is: 20ish My typical ball flight is: fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: fat shots / occasional hook Videos: Hi, I really struggle with a 'bobbing head' during the swing and wobbly legs!! hitting fat shots is also a problem for me. I really find it difficult to get my swing bottom in front of the ball, unless I put the ball in the centre of stance or even further back Also, I find that in order to hit a straight shot I have to take the club away on an inside plane, and attack the ball from a overly inside path. No one else who I play with feels they need to do this.... Does anyone know what could be causing this. My inside swing path means an occasional pulled shot. But I'd rather this than a terrible slice, which is what would happen if I aimed for the absolute back if the ball. Any advice is much appreciated.

I thought I'd post this here as I learned something new today and I think it could be something a lot of beginner golfers ignore or have never truly felt I had to take an important call on the course today (tut tut). While I was on the phone I was brushing the grass with the clubhead using my left arm only. About 20 mins later I finished the call and stood on the tee ready to shoot. I realised I was suddenly more aware of the heavy weight of the clubhead. I had much less tension in my wrists. I then hit probably the best 5 iron I've ever hit. I spent the next hour or two really ingraining this 'heavy clubheed' feeling by taking gentle practice half swings with the left arm only and by taking the grip with both hands and making a mini figure of eight shape in front of me. You need to really focus on the weight of the club head, and waggle it gently around until you can literally 'feel' it's weight and momentum when swinging. The difference really is staggering. Swing tempo is smoother, takeaway feels much better, confidence hitting the ball is much better. Shots are hugely more powerful. I now cannot wait to get back to the course and range to make sure I haven't lost the feeling! I'm really surprised there's not more drills and instruction out there about this real 'swinging' feeling! If you're thinking 'of course it's a swing.. What is this guy talking about?' then I really recommend you give it a try. I really believe I may have stumbled across the secret ingredient! Mind you. Probably lose it again by tomorrow. That's Golf! When you finally think you've cracked it you'll be reminded what a cruel game it really is :-) Seriously though, try it. It seems to be working great for me so far.

Ok! Point taken. Back to the range! Thanks

I know... Sorry. Lol I'm going to view all the info. Thanks for pointing out the relevant thread.

I haven't yet had any critique :-(. If there are any instructors or low handicappers then can you help?, and I appreciate it may be harder to advise cause I'm just taking a practice swing, but here are two things I cannot do - 1. Get a draw shot 2. Get good backspin on the ball Can anyone advise why this is, or what I can change to improve my chances if hitting this type of shot? Thanks!

Oh right. I feel a bit silly now! Thought I'd been hacked by a cyber villain! Please feel free to delete my post. At least now I've got to create a profile picture. -
I have just noticed that since yesterday my profile has changed to someone I do not know. I have tried to change my password and it's saying I "haven't entered my password correctly", but it will let me login using it. I'm a bit worried as there's no way anyone could know my password. Is the new profile picture a glitch? I do not have long hair, and have never uploaded a profile picture. Your assistance is appreciated
