  1. Well, they gave Rory Sabbatini an endorsement, so there's your answer. On the subject of Lori, I got tired this whole episode of hearing Lori talk as if she felt sorry for Christina and was sad that she "beat herself". Bull. She spends at least 2 days totally ripping into the girl for the sole purpose of destroying her mentally, and then when she sees she's accomplished her task, she tries to look good for the cameras by feigning compassion? What a witch. And what was Lori's comment about being "a Cadillac"? And she also said something after she beat Christina, that she was glad she got to play against her and that "now all the questions are answered." To me that sounded like her admitting she had been afraid of Christina and that she (Lori) had proved she was the better golfer. Does she not realize that just because you beat another golfer ONE TIME in a made for TV event, that doesn't necessarily make you better or worse than the other person? It's just one match, Lori.
  2. Oh, I agree. Unless he qualifies, he should only be considered a Captain's Pick if he's playing well at the time, not if he's won a tournament three or four or six months ago. But whether he's willing to play 36 a day isn't really an issue. It's not like the US team are only going to have 11 players now. There will be plenty to mix and match and not force Kenny Perry or anyone else to have to play 36 a day if they don't feel up to it. And besides, Kenny isn't one of the "horses" I'd pick to play 36 holes anyway.
  3. He probably will win it, but I think we need to wait until, you know, the season is actually over or closer to over than it is now. In all likelihood, he will get Player of the Year this year and next, and also Comeback Player of the Year next year as well.
  4. Perry's whole focus this season has been to make the Ryder Cup team. It's in his home state on a course where he almost won the PGA Championship. I think he'd be willing to play all five matches if he's physically able.
  5. Exactly, and that mental impact goes for the US side as well. Example: Kenny Perry and Jim Furyk have just wrapped up a foursomes win against Sergio and Luke Donald. Perry enters the press tent and gets his first question: "Kenny, great, great win, but... what did you think of Tiger's 9 iron on the 15th today?"
  6. I think they will have just as good a chance as they had with him. He is only one man of a team of 12 after all, and sometimes I think the media distractions that go along with him being there are more of a hindrance than anything. And now they don't have to worry about finding someone who plays well with Tiger and can be more focused on the team aspect of the competition and not "Tiger and those 11 other guys".
  7. Yep, I didn't like him either. He was also on the Big Break prior to that one... the one with Trump. The one he was on with Donatello was "Reunion", with a bunch of previous Big Breakers returning. On the subject of Donatello, I didn't like him that much, but at least he has the game to back up his boasting.
  8. I'm not so sure. Something about this episode told me that Lori is not quite as solid as she seems to be on the surface. I think once someone puts a little pressure on her, she will fold. Hopefully it will be Christina next week, but if not her, I think Sophie is up to the task.
  9. Not sure what the correct ruling should be in that situation, but I can understand the girls at least bringing it up. I mean, they are playing for a LOT of money here. Not defending Lori in any way. I don't like her at all and would like her to have already been booted off the show a long time ago. But I don't think what they had there could actually be called a teeing ground, or be treated as such in regards to the rules. Had it been a teeing ground, they would have been allowed to use a tee. The intent of the challenge was obviously to re-create an approach shot situation, and I'm sure that's what the official was thinking of when he made his ruling. That said, I think consideration should have been taken to the fact that it wasn't simply an approach shot situation, and that Christina was having to deal with divots left by other players. I have noticed those kinds of things before in past episodes of the show and have always looked at it as a major flaw in the show. Perhaps they should look into that and develop some "local" rules for those types of situations when they happen on the show. As for what Lori did to Sophie, that was just dirty pool as one of the hosts stated. She knew that at the very least she was going to upset Sophie's thought process, and at best she would get the same thing done to Sophie that she had just done to Christina. Let your game do the talking, Lori, and not your big mouth.
