  2. My posture is pretty good I think i've figured it out. I have a over the top swing but I am positive it's to do with my hips/pelvis rotation. After watching the video of me I can see it goes down on my downswing rather than rotating.
  3. Cheers for the help. Next time I can get on the course i'm gonna give it a go playing like this. I'll report back how I get on lol.
  4. I haven't had chance to play much golf with the weather and the driving range has been closed. I went the other day and everything just went wrong. I was shanking it slicing it duffing it everything. Main problem - HITTING GROUND BEFORE BALL! I went a few days later and was trying the drill where you address the ball then move the ball over the left foot but keep the iron in middle of my stance. I have never hit a ball more sweetly in my life. I must have hit 70 balls with all my irons and it worked everytime and hitting further than I usually hit. I went again today and its still working and actually getting easier to hit. I went back to normal ball position and I had more bad shots than good with way less range. Would it be so bad if I played with the ball over left foot all the time? It's more like in line with the middle of my left foot. I can even hit my 3 iron amazingly which i've never been able to hit before.
  5. I asked the golf pro at the club I am getting my handicap he said I can use it.
  6. Cheers for the advice guys lol. People have asked before if I want to tag a long when I first started but they were awesome and I could barely hit a ball 100 yards off the tee (usually a major slice or duff). I think now that I am more confident and consistent it will be easier to tag along with people. Also when I join the club (be a member to get handicap) hopefully enter in tournaments and meet new people.
  7. I love golf started playing last year. I got my best mate into it but he's given up and none of my other mates have any interest in golf. I end up going on my own most of the time which I don't mind but it's more fun with friends. I am getting pretty good now as well but I don't wanna be on my own ALL the time. Even tried getting girlfriend into it but no chance. Anyone else have this problem?
  8. I don't have a handicap yet but i've worked it out for around 16. I use a GPS watch which is amazing and I play so much better with it (who doesn't). I am going to get my handicap this summer but when I take the official for the rounds for him to take my scores am I allowed to use my GPS watch? Thanks
  9. That's the thing...its been closed EVERY day for nearly 3 weeks. We have the "no trolleys" rule applied in the winter but like I said we haven't had flooding rain and i've played the same courses in worse conditions. Also if this were the case there would be no point in places like Scotland having course if they closed every time it rained.
  10. I live in East Midlands and yeah we get the odd rain but not terrible non stop rain. Anyway it's been rainy on and off for past 2 weeks. Every time I ring both my courses are closed because its "unplayable". I called the other day and it was blazing sunshine and pretty dry. We had a drizzle in the night but nothing major yet it was still closed but the week before they let me play in pissing down rain. So my question is who's decision is it to close the course and why don't I get a say? I pay green fee's but i'm not allowed on the course. A bit of mud don't bother me. I can only play in the week and it's been nearly 3 weeks the course has been closed. I pay half price green fee's in the winter but if I can never play whats the point? Surely I should get some kind of compensation like free to play at weekends or vouchers for the shop.
  11. lol I wasn't amazed by them when I first saw them but holding them and putting them down they look quite nice. I originally wanted the 825's but the EZ are cheaper and look pretty similar just different colour.
  12. For some strange reason on the golf shop site I go the i25 irons cheaper than the i20's!? Is there a reason for this? http://americangolf.co.uk/Sets-of-Irons/CLUBS-SETS,en_GB,sc.html?prefn1=brand&prefv1;=Ping Just realized they are the g25 not i25 doh lol. The g25's do look nice though but I want to stick with Mizuno tbh.
  13. Soon as xmas is over I will most probably go for these. I was going to wait till summer to get them but what the hell you only live once...golf strong, go long lol. Love your videos btw they cured my driver slice instantly!
  14. Would it make a difference between forged and cast? Cast are a LOT cheaper here in the UK lol.
  15. I have been looking at the Neo X (neo plus in UK) and the battery life seems to be a lot longer than the s1. Does anyone know if the S3 battery life is any better?
  16. I love the look of the 54's they look very similar to mx 20's but they are so much more expensive than say the JPX EZ :(
  17. I have the MP A302 with a fatso grip I love it. I used to have a more semi circle shape putter but I hated the shape. the 302 is my preferred shape and the black with white looks sexy as hell.
  18. Ah ok thanks for the help. I also heard you can play a round with someone who is a member at another course.
  19. So you just put your scores in yourself? What if people lie on the score card? Thats where I am going wrong. I only pay green fee's I don't pay to be a member. It's not much more so I think I will do that for sure. Thanks.
  20. I think i'm just trying to get as good as I can before I do it. I mean I don't even know how you do it. I would imagine a pro goes out with you and takes down your score (x3) then calculates it ect ect. I would just be extremely nervous if he was watching and knowing it was for my hcp lol. I am a lot less nervous now when playing with other people but I would ideally like to wait until the bad weather passes to get a bit more distance and better lye (lie?). How does the whole process work then? On topic - I have just picked up some long white wooden tee's so I am gonna give them ago.
  21. I actually thought 27 was given to people without an official handicap so I just put that in to get past registration. I don't want to put my actual hcp in until i've officially got it. Just feels like I am lying to myself lol.
  22. I currently play with Mizuno MX 20 forged standard/reg irons and although they are in great condition I am turning 30 in a few weeks and my family have offered to buy me some new irons. Anyway I play very well with my irons and i've always wanted the JPX 825. Today on a round I tried the JPX 800 HD (6 iron only). I found that the club was very chunky when I put it down and quite a lot heavier. It felt quite nice but I just preferred my MX 20's. So I just have a few questions really. Are there any newer irons that resemble the MX 20's? Would a different shape be better to match ie blade? Is it just because they are new and need to adapt? Are chunkier clubs more forgiving and easier to use in general? I don't want to rush buy so any help would be great thanks.
  23. I don't have an official handicap but I know the calculations to working it out and last time I did it was 16.3. I have since got even better so I will let you know in the future. You should know that when you register to this site you must put a handicap to proceed further. I never knew how much forgiveness there was with tee's I just automatically thought you have to tee it up right every time and this just came with more experience (the reason I always used castle tee's). Thanks for the info though and I am currently watching your 5SK videos they are really helping me out.
  24. How do you know you are teeing it up the right height everytime? You tee up 1/4 inch too high and you going to sky it. 1/4 too low and you are catching the bottom. Theres no way to be sure you are teeing it up the right height everytime with a plain white wooden tee. I have tried using just normal tees but I always doubt how high I have it. The castle tee's here in the UK are very cheap and because they are plastic they last a lot longer.
