  1. I’ve been running a golf tournament the last 10 Years. It’s a memorial tournament for one of my good friends that is no longer with us. Funds raised go to area scholarships. I’m looking for some new fundraising ideas. We currently or have done the following: Vegas Hole, Chipping Contest, Golf Get Away Raffle, Ryder Cup Ticket Raffle, Knock Off Yeti Cooler w/booze Raffle, and some more that I’m forgetting. I also sell sell different levels of sponsorships. Thanks in advance!
  2. We played Feb. 15 th , 16 th and 17 th . A couple days prior an ice storm rolled through the area. Being “Minnesnowtans” the weather was still a welcome relief. Caledonia: Best sweet tea I’ve ever had! Course was soaked to the bone. Can’t believe it was actually open. Lots of debris on the ground. With the unseasonably cold temps none of the flowers/plants had started growing. Obviously they can’t control the weather. I can see why it’s called ‘Augusta of South Carolina’. The entrance/drive is breath taking. Great golf holes. Old-school country club layout. I love old school CC’s! Tidewater: I loved Tidewater. It was probably actually the most enjoyable round we played in the MB area. Beautiful views. Not difficult, not easy. Awesome staff!! The Ocean Course: I was in awe the entire day. I almost threw up on the driving range. I think “unbelievable” sums up the experience. I’d hit tee shots and then to just walk and not even play the hole, just take everything in. It really is something. We arrived early and made a day of it. One of the best days of my life! Eats in the MB Area: 21 Main At North Beach. Delicious steak and unbelievable lobster bisque. I’d highly recommend playing all three of the above courses and eating at 21 Main. Hopefully we can get back and play Grand Dunes , Dunes Club and some of the Barefoot courses.
  3. True Linkswear, FootJoy Classic Dry Premiere (which better be for the $$$ I paid at the time) and sometimes I just wear my Keen sandals.
  4. We are looking for dining recommendations for Myrtle Beach, Kiawah Island and Charleston areas. We enjoy local, hole-in-the-wall, type joints. On the ocean/water would be wonderful. Don't mind paying for good food (any $$$). Don't like chains. Love breweries. I’ve had these recommendations so far. Myrtle: The Barrel and Damon’s for drinks. Damon’s for a view. Louis’s at Sanford on Pawley’s Island…someone said “Fantastic food, maybe some the best I have ever eaten.” Also for MB: New York Prime, Landshark Bar & Grille (located on the strip - great view of the ocean). For Charleston dining: Cypress, Magnolias and 82 Queen. Breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? Thanks in advance!
  5. Thanks for the advice. We decided to give Tidewater a try on Sunday. Caledonia Saturday and The Ocean Course on Monday. Might sneak in a round before our flight on Tuesday but we'll see. Hopefully the weather is decent, although, coming from MN anything will feel better than our below zero temps.
  6. Where do you recommend dining at? We've had these dining recommendations for Charleston: Cypress, Magnolias, and 82 Queen …thoughts?
  7. Next week will be our first MB golf trip. Already have Caledonia booked for Saturday and The Ocean Course @ Kiawah Island for Monday. For Sunday we are debating between Tidewater and Grand Dunes - Resort Course. Which course would you recommend? Thanks in advance!
