Are you looking for a lessons response or something else? I'd also suggest getting a hybrid iron set, like Cobra's, Cleveland and Wilson a good place to start.

Have chronic trail knee pain. Have been to the ortho and I am not ready for miniscus surgery. Have tried TPI certified coach without success. That's why I am considering work arounds, whether it is a set up change or something swing related that will allow a fuller backswing. I am very restricted on the backswing and can barely get the club to 3pm/half way back. I've tried dropping my trail leg back. It helps some. I was thinking of using a split handed grip swing. Any other ideas to free up the backswing?

The retailers have limited stock. Went to REI (thanks, @boogielicious), the Soles seemed a bit firm and have a cork bottom? But, a possible choice. No one had my size in the SuperFeet Green. Surprisingly liked the Sof Sole athletic. Much less money & felt great. But, they didn't seem very firm. More to come, thanks, for the replies!

Any recommendations for Insoles for golf shoes? I know SuperFeet green comes up a lot. Any others? I am looking for something stiffer for big toe arthritis.

I hear you. I probably tried it for one range session and gave up on it. I need to work with the PT first, taking a break from golf and then get to the swing changes. What you said, finally registered today regarding the sway and the knee taking the brunt of it. Thanks, for that. Most instructors, do not consider a physical limitation or something that is repetitive and causing pain. Better late than never.

Thanks, iacas. Looking back at this it was great insight. I am sure, I tried to fix it with your suggestions in mind with no different swing results. However, it was a great call on the rolling of the trail foot putting pressure on the knee. That alone was a great suggestion and would have prevented this chronic knee pain. Hopefully with some PT, I will have a second chance. Appreciate it.

Yes, going to a PT. Mainly, trying to strenghten it. Right, I understand to flare the trail foot. But, then that will be tougher on the through swing.

Try a Cleveland XL Halo hy-wood. Great substitute for the 5 wood.

Does anyone have any set up or swing tips for a bad trail knee? Have a worn meniscus per a recent doctor visit and will be doing exercises for general rehab. But, something is going on in my swing to make this a re-occuring problem. I find with a better hip hinge my backswing is less restrictive.

Ended up getting Sketcher's go golf. They are very comfy. But, lack support that I need.

What are comfortable shoes with plenty of toe room and support. Getting over a bacterial toe inflection and looking to make sure I upgrade my golf shoes.

The knee brace and voltarin have helped and just giving it a break. I am see a golf related PT and working on midback (open book) exercises for better rotation and less stress on the lower back and knee. Quite interesting. If the midback doesn't rotate, the lower back and knee will over compensate.

I hear you. At the same time, I've had a frozen shoulder and a complete PT regimen. It's getting expensive to go back for the knee. Will watch it and try at home exercises.

Any one have any good exercises for knee pain. Should short arcs or quad sets cause pain? If yes. Do I fight through the pain to improve?

I'm with you! Love the XLI, HB3's and now XL Halo irons. They are very forgiving and pretty much eliminate any embarrassing shots. The only draw back is the previous gens were clunky in the 9-W and they lacked distance on those clubs. I think they have addressed this issue in the XL halo irons.

The tip for Angel Park was great, thx. Really enjoyed the conditions and Callaway club rentals, low priced afternoon green fees too. It was nice to get away from the strip for a while.
