  1. I was unable to get to Caledonia - we were not able to leave when we wanted to - I did get to play MB National West - it was OK. I liked the layout - pace was very slow - greens were not consistent at all...
  2. Thanks - I feel bad for that other twosome
  3. Thanks for the offer - my wife and I are playing Caledonia on Monday (our one chance to get away from the kids :) )
  4. Does anyone use software to track their scores and statistics? I am looking for something that I can set up on my PC but also has and an Android/iOS option that will sync so i can track my scores, putts, GIR, FIR, etc... Thanks!!!
  5. Ocean Blvd - we were required to stay in one of the tournament specified hotels... I don't mind a 30 min drive to Caledonia...
  6. I am definitely going to play Caledonia... I've had recommendations for the Dunes and International World Tour - IWT sounds interesting with holes patterned after other famous holes... these courses worth playing?
  7. Caledonia Golf & Fish Club? $119 per person before noon, $99 per person after. Making sure I have the right place
  8. Thanks MB. Here is what I think I am looking for: One day a premiere course - around $100 or so - I have heard True Blue is a great course One day I will be playing with family who are very high handicappers - so $50 max - suggested so far Myrtlewood Pinehills or MB National South Creek Last day could be anything I would prefer not drive more than 30 min - I would prefer to keep the greens fees around $50. I am also not sure what time I should be looking to play - I am used to getting up and playing at 7:00a but I hear that could be hot down there in late July. Am I better off playing 18 in the evening? Can we walk or will carts be required? I am new to Myrtle Beach golf so I am open to any suggestions...
  9. I am heading to Myrtle Beach for the last week of July for a softball tournament for my daughter and I will have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to play golf. I am looking for course recommendations for a bogey golfer - I love well landscaped courses that are challenging without being punishing. Of course, if there are any "must play" courses, I am open to those too. Thanks in advance.
  10. Ball deals: Callaway HX Diablo Tour - 2 dozen for $35 at Dicks Top Flight Gamer - 2 for $30 at Golf Galaxy (possibly Dicks also) Birdgestone e6 (2013 Model) - $17 per dozen - www.tgw.com Bridgestone e7 (2013 Model) - $17 per dozen - www.tgw.com Precept Laddie X - Double Dozen Pack - $20 - www.tgw.com Callaway X2 Hot (slower swing speeds) - $18 per dozen - http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/
  11. I always finish the last 15-20 minutes of my driving range session playing a "round" on the range. Start with a tee shot, imagine the result and then take the next shot - play your home course on the range if you will - switching clubs each swing. Each swing is treated like it would be on the course - get behind ball in the "Think Box" and prepare for the shot, then step into the "Play" box and take the swing. In this way, you are practicing the way you play - which should translate to the course. IIRC - this book is where I got the "Think Box" and "Play Box" concepts - very valuable read....
  12. I am just getting back into playing after 3-4 years off - very much not in golf shape upon my return :) I have seen some people mention Joey D and his golf specific workout and I work with someone that is a firm believer in the P90 system. How do they compare? Will I get the same golf benefits out of the P90 system that i would get out of Joey D? Any thoughts would be most appreciated...
  13. What's the difference with overrun golf balls vs stock golf balls? I see Golfsmith selling Callaway Tour i(s) overruns for $14.99 a dozen - it seems like a great deal but I am not sure the difference in an overrun. Is it simply cosmetic?
  14. Well stated. I have Maltby KE4 Cavity back irons and Maltby blade wedges and I am happy with both. They do feel a little different but I have gotten very comfortable with them all - so the difference doesn't bother me at all. I'm willing to bet that a few sessions at the range with the blade wedges and you would begin to feel comfortable also - but that's certainly a personal decision.
  15. She swung the Bafflers and the Adams and really likes the Adams a12 os set. Dicks only had the set on the wall so discounted it 10% - $360 for the Adams a12 os set - irons/hybrids all set - now for a lesson or two for her
