  2. Anybody with any experience hitting off the rear leg due to injury? I've had some left hip and knee pain recently making it hard to move to the left side. I realize this would not be the most efficient way to swing but playing is better than not. Tx.
  3. It actually looks like I get forward shaft lean... remarkable! My ball flight fades more than it draws now which is new. The strikes are much more solid and not as fat! I'm looking for swing thoughts to keep turning the hips during the down swing vs. stalling when they are square. Any other thoughts would be great!
  4. Thanks but is there a particular "grind" that consistently will give me what you referring to above? I'm being lazy I know.
  5. I could but I'd rather keep the loft as is. I "feel" that when chipping (I chip like I putt... whatever method that is) the bounce at address hits the ground before hitting the ball. This is my "feel" only.
  6. Is there a grind for wedges that at address, there is no bounce. I've finally learned to chip and can do it well with fariways to my pitching wedge. Once though there is some bounce added on the wedges though, I end up hitting the chips thin unless I am on a fluffy lie. Thanks in advance.
  7. Thank you anybody who sees this... I've hit the wall a little bit. My Evolver lessons have pointed out that I tend to start my swing with a close the face wrist roll... we've worked on everything else and overall, my swing feels better but this seems to be the crux of my issues. I'm being encouraged to try and get my wrists to more "upright" vs the the wrist-roll-close move you'll see in the DTL video. In doing so... the thought is I'll come down less shallow and at a steeper angle which will help my fats a little bit more (I know I still have a lot of wrist throwaway on the downswing). Thoughts? I've been doing this close the face wrist roll my whole life... so getting rid of it is going to be painful. When I do this now... I tend to shank it a lot.
  8. Still working on the pivot (not the standing/jumping part). I don't feel like I'm making progress. My left wrist is actually kind of flat now which is good. I'm still hitting it a little fat... frustrating. Thoughts?
  9. I've been Playing Golf for: 20 years or more My average score is: About 86 My typical ball flight is: Draw or a weak fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Hook I'm waiting for my evolvr lesson to get back to me. It's a short pitch using my pivot and having my left wrist naturally stay flat on inline. I know the pivot is still stalling... I just don't know how to fix it. Thoughts?
  10. "To adjust playback speed if you're using the Chrome browser, click the Settings icon in the lower-right corner of the playback window, then click the Speed selector. Choose 0.25 for quarter-speed playback or 0.5 for half-speed."
  11. Grr, So I finally figured out how to watch vids in slow motion on Youtube... The pivot is still stalled! My contact with the ball happens when my belt buckle is facing the ball. I "thought" that my buckle was facing the target at impact... guess not. So frustrating!!!
  12. Posted this to evolvr today. Thought I'd post here as well. Thoughts good and bad are welcome. Chip/pitch trying to get the pivot correct with the clubhead staying behind the hands.
  13. iacas, I will... likely today or tomorrow... I'm just impatient... not a great golf temperament/trait to have.
  14. mvmac, thank you. i tried standing/jumping and right now it's just an odd feeling so i think it's going to take some time. i have a setup in the garage to practice chips/short pitches so i'll be working on it. i still feel though it's the arms/wrists. if i hold on to the "lag" i sometimes feel temporarily like i'm hitting more solid/compressed (i know this is not the way to go). but then i go back to slightly fat eventually. if i just relax the arms/wrists and try to bring them along for the pivot ride... it feels great for a bit... but then back to fat. i guess i'm just frustrated and am trying to figure out how long it's going to take to educate my hands OR am i missing something.
  15. Since Xmas... I'm admittedly impatient
  16. So I've started some online lessons (evolvr) and I've been working on my pivot and subsequently my hands staying forward. Half swings/chips is all... trying to have my pivot really drive my arms and not flip. I'm stuck. It's better but not better/better. 1/2 the time it's clean and compressed. 1/2 the time it's still fat. Is it possible my hands just need to be educated longer? My finish seems like the left wrist is flat but I could be wrong (I'll have some video for the lesson next week). My belt buckle seems pointed to the target before impact with my butt tucked... but still fat 50% of the time. I'm posting to see if there are any other reasons for the fatness. I don't want be practicing the wrong way. If it's just more practice to get my hands used to the feel and more "solid" (although not forced)... I'll keep on chuggin. Thanks!
  17. Thank you again. I'll check out your page for online lessons. I was just hoping I could get to single digits with some lead tape... would have been nice.
  18. Every club! Thank you for your honesty. If I told you I'm naturally good hitting from the sand (meaning I hit it fat) without any swing changes, would this clue you in to a particular fault?
  19. I'm really consistent... just near the heal. I took some powder spray and you can see the results. The attached pic is about 3 balls off my hybrid... so consistent... just not where I want it. Doesn't matter if I address the ball off the toe or any other address changes. If I try to miss the ball totally (swing just in front), I can strike the center... but when I'm nervous... I short circuit and end up doing something weird. So my question is... are there any equipment changes I can make to make my strike as consistent but at the center of the clubface? Somebody mentioned to flatten the lie angle of the club... I just don't get it? Thoughts? Thank you!
  20. Fooling around with my grip at the range and for whatever reason I kept my right thumb and index fingers off the grip (I'm a righty) the entire swing... boy did I swing it well. I tend to drift towards the heel of the club on all my shots but... center of the clubface and great distance. Any thoughts on why taking those fingers off is making a difference? Thanks!
  21. I'm trying to work something out mentally and if anybody has any thoughts to help me figure this out... great! A few months prior I took a lesson with a great teacher (a friend of Grant Waite) and the few things he really tried to get me to do was to move the ball way up in stance (like 7 iron at my left heel) and get the weight moving forward. My issues prior to seeing him were hitting it fat (almost sounds cliche), inconsistency (cliche as well) and shanking it. On video all my shanks were because my path was too shallow into the ball (I actually drop the club in transition). So I've been working on these things, but on my own , I really wanted to understand them (an hour lesson is too short in my opinion). I've been thinking that if there is a semi circle arc on the ground "my" swing's arc is a little farther forward thus for "me", getting my ball position more forward would prevent the shank? Is that a reasonable conclusion? So the top of my arc is further forward than most? Like Jack? (Haha). As for the other arc (the one that is on some kind of swing plane (I'm not an expert in this stuff)) should be the one that determines the low point of the swing. So moving my weight forward should move this arc... right? If so... why are a lot of my swings still bottoming out early? It's not all of them... but enough to cause me irritation to say the least. I've had 90% of my weight forward, doing the pump drill so I don't cast at the ball.. and still... 50% of the time my divot is almost at the ball... not in front. Am I thinking correctly about this? The shank is not an issue anymore. I'm tempted just to move my ball back in my stance but doing this causes shanks again. Thoughts?
  22. No matter how much I look around the internet... I can't get a good answer. Looking to buy a new putter. I currently putt with a Yes Sophia... looks great... putts great... if you're great... otherwise... not so much so. Look for something with a lot of MOI (obviously) but also something that if I hit it a little towards the toe or heel the distance won't be lost on me. Any articles somebody could point me to? Putters? I don't know if I'm asking for a putter with a hot face as well... thanks!
  23. Nice... that's all I have to say.
  24. Has anybody ever built one? I would like to build one (vs. buy one). Some PVC pipe with hanging nets. I've seen pictures here and there but I was wondering about specs. 10 ft x 10 ft x 10 ft? Seems big to me but... I'm not sure. I don't need to see much flight... just full swings into the cage but I'd like to be close enough to (or in the cage) so that if I do ever shank one it won't hit something. Also... if you have built one... cost? Thanks!
