  2. For the record, you first heard about the "Big 4" right here on the Sand Trap. All kidding aside, decent article on this very topic: http://www.golf.com/tour-and-news/tour-confidential-rickie-fowler-making-case-big-4
  3. Probably wise to avoid an active golf forum if you want to avoid spoilers about tournaments that have already happened.
  4. Fowler moves to #4 in the World Ranking after beating a star-studded field in Abu Dhabi, including Spieth (#1) and Rory (#3). We had a separate conversation (thread) last week about Fowler and the idea he was poised to join "the big boys" a/k/a "the big 3". Without a Major, it will be difficult for Fowler to replace one of the current Big 3. However, rather than isolate the group to 3 members, Rickie could soon make a very compelling argument to add a seat at the table and begin a new dialogue: "The Big 4".http://www.europeantour.com/europeantour/season=2016/tournamentid=2016004/news/newsid=283619.html#JP02l2Df5l8H6dkt.97
  5. Well, Well, Well..... as if this post was somewhat serendipitous. I have to admit, I was quite surprised that Fowler was the one to rise out of this star-studded field to win the tournament. Fowler moves to #4 in the world after this win. Even a strong performance (Top 5) at the Masters, and we might have to extend the party list to the "Big 4"....
  6. This post was not meant to be taken all that seriously; however, based on the consensus it looks like I need to move on. If DeChambeau, however, continues to pop up on tour events, don't be surprised if you start to see and hear the word 'polarizing' when discussing DeChambeau. Think Patrick Reed. Thanks for participating and hit 'em straight this weekend.
  7. Are you guys sure you saw the photo?? I did notice the votes reflect a little bit different sentiment than the comments.
  8. Maybe it's just me, but I watched DeChambeau at the NCAA championships and found myself constantly annoyed by him. Now he's resurfacing. I'm sure 90% of it was the hat. Maybe his swing. I'd be curious to get peoples feedback on the like-ability of this guy...
  9. The big three (at least in this thread) are struggling a bit due to the weather in Abu Dhabi. Rickie seems to be hanging tough. I wouldn't count any of these three out just yet. However, Spieth given his recent history, seems to be the one that could make a Saturday/Sunday charge to get back into contention. http://espn.go.com/golf/story/_/id/14625611/jordan-spieth-rory-mcilroy-drop-andy-sullivan-leads-suspended-abu-dhabi
  10. I don't think you can debate whether or not DFS is gambling in most states. The current law is pretty clear. I think the real debate is whether or not current laws, which some people might argue are outdated, should be revised to allow state and federal governments to regulate a $400bn / year industry that is currently unregulated / not taxed.
  11. I found this on Golf Channel's website. Hope this helps! Tournament Airtimes on Golf Channel (Eastern): Wednesday 10:30 p.m.-3:30 am (Live, First Round Morning Wave) / 3:30-6 am (Replay) Thursday 6-8 am (Live, First Round Afternoon Wave) / 10 am-2 p.m. Replay) Friday 2-8 a.m. (Live) / 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (Replay) Saturday 4-8 a.m. (Live) / 10 a.m.-2p.m. (Replay) Sunday 3:30-8 a.m. (Live) / 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (Replay)
  12. Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton, issued his Opinion today on the legality of Daily Fantasy Sports ("DFS") and traditional fantasy sports. Texas joins a growing list of states that have already interpreted DFS and other fantasy sports as illegal according to current state laws. This is likely a necessary step toward new regulation, which is long overdue. However, this opinion will be quite unpopular in Texas. You can read the full opinion here: http://www.legalsportsreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Texas-ag-dfs-decision.pdf
  13. He definitely would. And rightfully so. Rickie is not there yet. Some think Fowler could be on the verge, which is what makes this pairing so interesting for Fowler, even if it is an early season tournament. If Fowler performs well, you will see the 'Fowler train' begin to pick up serious momentum... Thrash13, good point regarding McIlroy.
  14. Who do you think will be feeling the most pressure? I would say Rickie since most think he could be part of the new "Big 3". If he flops, I feel like that would be a major set back for him mentally. It will be important for him to not try and do too much too early... We'll see
  15. You'll likely have to set the DVR's for this 10:40pm ET tee time, but it will be well worth it. Great early test for Fowler as he is poised for a break out season. Can't wait!
