The facility has been resurrected by a grass roots movement of local prominent people (including John Ashworth of founder Ashworth Clothing) to upgrade the course and keep it in the community and attract a new generation of golfers. I have lived here for 25 years and never went there because of its rough reputation. But I went there last week and I was pleasantly surprised. The range is outstanding. I love to beat balls and the grass range is just perfect with level grass and great green targets. The small pro shop/starter is perfect for this facility. It is a good starter course. It's good for beginners but they may lose a few balls but that's expected even on the easiest of courses. The pro (David Emerick) is great and has an outstanding junior program. I'd recommend it for fun. They also have frisbee golf holes sprinkled throughout but they are not intrusive to golfing. That looks fun too but I'm too old to run around chasing those flying saucers.
