I followed the tip for sweeping the club back, and it worked for me on the range, so now I have to see if it stands up on the course.

I also had the same problem or chunking almost all of my approach iron shots. I went to the range and these tips helped a lot! I moved my hands in front of the clubface and tried a smoother swing, but swung through the ball, and not at it. I was a lot more consistent, now I just have to wait and see if it holds up on the course.
