John, i think the challenge is to hit it correctly with all the clubs. Keep on trying. I am also fighting with the driver and found that "the" problem could be a dozen of different things, it is not so easy to find the mistake. Also, I arrived to the conclusion that the reason for a bad hit could be a matter of just centimiters or milimiters in the position of hands, ball, feet, etc.

It happens exactly the same to me. I tried many different things with the driver but I still not sure of the problem. At this stage, my best guess, is that when i grab the driver, my brain starts sending orders like "it has to be a long shot" and then I get too tense and my tempo is too fast, my lower body moves too much and hit to hard. So, relaxing a little bit and trying to "hit no so hard", could be some things to try. Good luck.
