Anyone else got to this state? I’ve been playing over 40 years, with a gap between ages 20-33. I’ve been horribly inconsistent over the past 20 years, particularly with the driver, but I can hit - for example - a great 2-iron or a perfect flop shot. But not reliably.
Recently I’ve had several lessons aimed at making the base of the swing more stable, and this is working - on the range. Today, in a medal, after my round was over by the 12th, I decided to hit the ball with my eyes closed. I hit every shot I tried that way solid - from drive to chip; some with a draw and some dead straight. I could feel the club, and didn’t hit from the top.
Anyone else got so much in their own way that they’ve resorted to this? Or better still, even started playing golf this way full time? I also look at the hole when I putt and this helped cure the yips.
